Popo and Nana

Going to finally get some sleep.

[🔥] A small purr rang from the she-kit’s throat as Popo leaned down to pet her. She was certainly more friendly and trusting than her brother. Blaize sat back, licking what little snow remained from his fur. He kept a watchful purple eye on the two humans and his sister though.

“We were exploring and found our way up here,” Cynder replied.

“More like you ran up the side of the mountain when I told you not to.”

“I’m a curious kitten. Can you blame me, Blaize?”

“Yes, I can. It’s dangerous up here. You could get hurt or worse!”

She waved a paw at her overprotective brother. “You worry too much bro.”

“I have every right to worry,” he muttered under his breath.

Nana couldn’t help but give a slight giggle at their argument. They reminded them of how they used to act way back in the day.

{🔴}- “Well, we could normally take you guys down, but unfortunately, jumping down is pretty much impossible.” To prove her point, Popo broke a hole in the ice and revealed that the floors below them had, for the most part, crumbled.

[🔥] The two cats watched as some weird creature pushed a block of ice at the male human, freezing him up not even a second later. The adopted brother and sister shared a look with each other before looking back at Nana as she spoke, freeing her brother in the process.

“I’m Cynder,” the larger she-kit added. “This here is my brother Blaize.”

{🔴}- “Pleased to meet you both,” she said with a bright smile. Despite her expression, she seemed a little annoyed that her brother let his guard down. Think he’d learn a bit after Smash Bros.

[🔥] The fire-colored kitten moved back slightly when she reached out, brushing the snow off his fur. Despite her kind tone and promise that she wasn’t going to cause him or Cynder harm, the shy and timid younger kitten couldn’t help the fact but to be a little wary. The same couldn’t be said for his sister though.

“Whoa! Are you a human? A real human?”

The two suddenly stared at Cynder, surprised that she could talk. ... Then again, weirder things have happened, so they quickly dismissed it as Popo gave a nod.

{🔵}- “Yep, we’re human all ri-” He was cut short by a topi pushing an ice block into him, causing him to become frozen solid. A drop of sweat went down Nana’s face as she looked at him.

Now this isn’t at all what the siblings were expecting to see! A fox had somehow found their way onto the glacier. The two quickly began to scale the mountain up to them, breaking the ice above them as they did so. Popo for the most part took care of the enemies while Nana took on the duty of breaking open the ceiling.

Before long, they had made their ways up to the fox that had inexplicably appeared on the mountain, Nana slowly approaching the kitsu.

[🔥] “Cynder, wait–”

Blaize pelted after the older kitten as his adopted sister hurried further across the strange mountain the two kits found themselves on. The larger she-kit glanced back at her smaller brother with her pale blue eyes, before she continued on. The fire-colored kitten sighed heavily as he ran after her. He ended up slipping on a patch of ice and fall face-first into the snow. He uttered a curse under his breath as he heard Cynder make her way back over to him to see if he was okay.

Two pairs of ears twitched as they heard footsteps behind them. The siblings turned their gazes to see a pair of human children making their way over to them.

As Nana slowly approached them, setting down the mallet she used to carve paths in the ice beside her brother. Popo kept an eye out for any Topis that may show up.

Nana and Popo were climbing up their mountain as per the norm, only to find a pair of small cats lying around. The two looked at each other and nodded, knowing that this kind of mountain was no place for a small cat, even though they were mere children.
