i mean first of all, thank you so much to whoever this is for being kind enough to reach out, very sweet and very kind and very lovely of you.
my first point of call is an apology because y'know what lads, life just got a little bit crazy there for a couple of months. i'm not gonna go ahead and bore you with all the details, but I DIDN'T die in norway or any other of the several Scandianavian countries i decided to bugger off too for a while there.
the reason i never ended up posting the final chapters i'd written was, a long story short, i just hated them. truly hated them. they felt forced and untrue to the little story created, and i wanted to post them because people have been so kind and vibing in such a cool way with this story that i didn't want to leave it hanging - but then i thought y'know what, better to post nothing than to post something that's just kinda shit.
HOWEVER MOMENT OF TRUTH - i've only gone and bloody done it and rewritten the rest of the fic. WELL, i say the rest of the fic. i've written the final arc of Act 1, which brings us up to the end of Season 2 (i think it's like 3-4 chapters total to finish her out im not sure now, but its a good chunk to sink your teeth into, and with plenty of pay off for sticking with it). BUT it'll finally bring this act of the story to a close.
i do finally have the ability to write back (nothing dramatic caused it to go away lmao just a terrible bout of writers block thanks to the general stressors of life y'know), so i really want to commit time to writing through the other seasons too, especially with how we leave this section - it may just take me a minute, so i hope what i do post is enough to kinda leave anyone still reading with a feeling of like 'yknow what, fuck yeah, that'll do'
i do just want to say if you are still here, and you are still interested in the end of the story, thank you thank you thank you. i actually cannot tell you enough how much the ongoing support and love has meant, it's just been lovely. i truly hope the ending (of s2) doesn't disappoint. fingers crossed it doesn't. and y'know what even if you're not that's so valid tbh, and just thank you for sticking with it and supporting this lil project while i was more regularly active.
anyways - i thank you, i love you, i'm gonna get to editing so i can hopefully get the first of those last chapters uploaded tonight <3
I’m honestly not sure if anyone who’s reading the fic is checking here for updates, but im kinda sure I can’t post them on AO3 as it’s against guidelines (don’t quote me on that reddit just told me I couldnt) so im dropping one here all the same!
A super long story short I AM alive and the final chapters of volume 1 ARE still coming. However, as per my luck, I’ve managed to contract an absolute bastard of a chest infection, and I’m currently solo travelling, so as we speak I’m holed up in a Swedish air bnb fighting for my life.
I just saw some very very kind comments left over on the fic hoping for an update soon, and I felt terrible that I haven’t been able to get anything finished off just yet, so wanted to reassure it’s not abandoned, merely a very slow wip, with edits happening between nasal rinses and trying to navigate pharmacies with a language barrier.
I’m off to Denmark on Friday and am VERY optimistic I’ll have a chapter out before I travel again, but on the off chance the plague does take me, please know I’ll be back in the UK on the 25th and should hopefully be able to commit more time to the work once I reconnect with my beta writer (who is in fact my cat, Sullivan, who offers me emotional support during the editing process).
