A Tomb for an Immortal

"We make mistakes, and there's always a price to be paid for those mistakes. This one cost us. It cost us too much. I turned my back on you because I couldn't help you anymore, and you died for it. I also did it because I'm a coward, I didn't want to see the consequences of my mistakes. This whole thing was my idea, I never should have pushed for you to take on that responsibility.

this guy has been rotating in my brain for weeks now so I drew this up as a sort of reference and launching point for the AU (click and zoom in to see the details better)

Regular Gordon. Pre-ResCas, he's just a human! Still a little offputting, but that's just the usual Freeman swag. Nothing supernatural about this guy.

Unsettling Gordon. This guy is really trying his hardest to be a human. Pale skin, glowing neon green eyes, and a face that's just different enough to trigger everyone's uncanny valley! It takes effort to be this normal, so Gordon only takes this form when he's meeting new people and wants to make a good first impression (or when he's trying to convince himself that he's still human).

Creepy Gordon. His default state for now because he still thinks of himself as human. Surrounded by an aura of danger, stilted movements, and 200% more glow per eye! He can open more eyes if he needs to, and what? that object was on the other side of the room? No silly, it's in Gordon's... whatever it is he uses to hold things when his hands are full. He doesn't talk, but you know exactly what he means somehow. Don't think about it too much, you'll give yourself a headache.

Scary Gordon. Uh oh! You made him upset! Gordon is so scared and so angry that he forgot he used to be human! The Hazard Suit it worn by a void and walks like a puppet, but you'll be dead long before it reaches you. Or will you? Will you be dead? His many eyes glow ever brighter.

Yep! That's definitely not all, and he has a lot more abilities than I've listed here but I just wanted to show the vibes of the various Stages of Gordon.
