I am very excited to announce the soon to be published, One More Story, Tata!—arriving in your bookstores this July. I had the opportunity to work with one of my favorite authors, Julie Salamon. This is our first picture-book together.

An amalgamation of my illustrations, some old and new—wishing everyone peace and here's hoping for the very best outcomes in this new year!

And they asked for illustrations from CAT IN THE CITY, one of my favorite projects!

It's been an interesting journey finding my way as an activist and being part of the Mont Vernon Dems. The way I have learned to participate is to use my design skills to make our outreach literature as eye catching as I know how. This was our door hanger with a brochure attached to it.

And I am guessing that my loud voice caught someone's attention, though nobody had the courage to talk to me to my face. Just a quick note that the book that I was supposed to read is all about the benefit of social programs to countries. Clearly not what they intended to say.

My neighbor (and our brilliant librarian) responded with this facebook post below. She made my voice even louder!

I have always sort of paid attention to the politics in our town, never missed a vote—I was more concerned with state and national elections! But this year with our public school system in jeopardy in New Hampshire and really all our core values being challenged post Trump world, my activism began at home. And so I offered to design signs for all of my choices and participated in a campaign to get our voters to please come to Town Meeting where one voice can change everything. Here are my signs!

I am very proud to be part of this show at Roger Williams Gallery in Manchester— 20 contemporary illustrators from all over the country and me. I am so looking forward to the reception Friday night!

I am so happy to share this cuddly Bubbala Bunny as a fun addition to my book Goodnight Bubbala and so proud that right now it is in the top five of all Jewish Holiday books on Amazon.

Well the good news is we won Georgia! And on January 6th when the election was being certified, Trump insighted an insurrection on the capital where people were killed and damage was done. Biden was inaugurated on January 20th and the whole world is sleeping better. As I write this, a second impeachment of Trump is in process. Will he be convicted is the big question.???

Joe Biden won the election. But not all the Republicans have accepted their loss beginning at the top with Donald Trump. Today is the run-off election in Georgia and if the two Democrats, Jon Ossoff and Re. Raphael Warnock win, then Biden begins with the Senate in his corner. The alternative is as frightening as everything else that is happening right now. I can hardly wait until the inauguration is over and Biden can begin! Never in my lifetime did I think our country was this vulnerable.

I am desperately trying to avoid the news and obsess about the results of this election. It is without a doubt, the scariest election in my life {scarier than the Nixon years}. Everything we have worked for and value is on the line. I still have that dreadful pit in the bottom of my stomach leftover from the night Trump won and Hillary lost. It is as unfathomable now as it was then. And here we sit hoping that after 4 years of the destruction of Trump topped with a pandemic, it is a foregone conclusion that Joe Biden should be the next president and Trump will go quietly into the night. Preferably tomorrow. But the reality is we don't know what is going to happen.

My husband and I voted absentee. I have worked very hard to help others with their Absentee Ballots, including all my mother’s neighbors, my friend in Amsterdam, his mother here, an elderly friend in Long Island and the young kid who mowed us who voted today for the first time! 

We also formed a Democratic Committee here in my little town. We have called every registered Democrat and UnDeclared. I designed mailers and door hangers which we hung on every house twice! I designed everything that went out from my town and the next, including logos. I think for certain this is what has kept me sane until now...I posted in Facebook and Instagram! Phone banked and wrote letters to Ohio and North Carolina. I am exhausted by the fear and the noise. Please let this have a happy ending!

Like many I know, my heart is at the bottom of the ocean. But I do believe we can listen and learn and stay active until some profound changes are made.

It has been 6 months since my last post, and I am going to try to post more. I have new books I haven’t posted, a fresh garden year and recipes. I have new kittens that are now a year old and a new family of bluebirds hatching in their little house. I know the world is falling apart around us and I won’t be able to be quiet about that. But for today this a happy post. I did the drawings for this font and my nephew helped digitize them and we sold them to Fonthaus many years ago. Christian Schwartz, was a talented kid in high school here in New Hampshire at the time and is now a world renowned type designer. 

With a little something put together by my publisher Holiday House—thank you Holiday House! I just loved this project and love that it is still alive and available.

This definitely made me happy to see two of my books side by side as # 2 and #3 in Children’s Jewish Holiday Books! First my brand new one and a perennial favorite from 2012. 

And then #1 in Children’s Judaism Books.
