“You should run,” she told him, echoing the same words that had been said to her years before.
“Why?”
“Because girls like me aren't good for anybody anymore. I already had my epic love, and he ripped my goddamn heart out. There's nothing left of me. I'll chew you up and spit you out. But you... you're still good, and a lot better than I deserve. So you should run.”
She lit a cigarette. “Run while you still can.”
