Hi! I'm Fract (they/them), I'm a 22-y-o Bleach fan. I struggle getting stuff done in general so updates (on anything, really) may not be regular and if I go missing for months it's probably normal, I just have periods like that. That aside, I make art and write, although right now I'm working on a series and it's taking ages so don't expect chapters for that to come out any time soon. I may occasionally post shorter pieces of writing though, or discuss my worldbuilding and stuff like that. I reblog whatever I like, but have a couple of tags that have my name in them, so you can follow just those instead of following my blog if they interest you.

Went to my first con in cosplay on Saturday :3 and ofc I had to go as this magnificent bastard! (affectionate)
Of course this being my first proper cosplay, had I been smart I would have opted for a more simple design, especially since I do not know how to sew, or work eva foam, or make cosplays!!
But. I'm stubborn.
And I wanted this.
To say it took me FOREVER to make would be pretty accurate.
I estimate I spent around 80h in total, spread over a month. Tbf had I been less stubborn it would have been much quicker, but as we've already established... well, I am not *less* stubborn. Nor smart.
Ngl, I'm actually quite proud of how it came out :3 in the end all the pain was pretty worth it.
I will post about the process separately as Tumblr is ridiculously limited, and maaaaybe I'll also post a crack video of me being absolutely unhinged.
The con was actually pretty fun, albeit overwhelming due to the amount of people in it.
I saw only two other Bleach cosplayers, but there were tons of amazing cosplays and super creative outfits.
It was so difficult to navigate the place as I couldn't look around without hitting someone in the face with my hat 🥲 and had to walk sideways to be able to use most doors...
I'm 100% sure Mayuri uses this to his absolute advantage, ensuring people remain at a prudent distance and slapping those who annoy him all the time.
But also, at the beginning he might have really struggled to get around too. I can see his short ass bumping into everything and everyone for a week before his body learnt the new spacial dimensions of his frame.
I also couldn't stop imagining that the toilets in the 12th division and SRDI must be quite wide, bc otherwise he'd get stuck in there with his ridiculous outfits!! Also I'm pretty sure he needs to use a straw to stay hydrated, or he'd need to reapply his lipstick all the time...
Anyway, thanks for reading. Oh, and bonus points to whoever recognises this last pic :D (I HAD TO DO IT!!)
Kubo was honestly cooking when he made it canon that no one in Soul Society knows who anyone is or when anything happened or also what happened. Like, despite the recency of his promotion, Renji as a character is undoubtedly one of the VCs most likely to have actually memorized who all the captains are. But if he can straight-up forget Matsumoto's captain--Matsumoto being one of the VCs who's probably going to be easiest to remember things about, because she's Matsumoto, EVEN IF we say that she and Renji never interacted prior to Renji becoming VC 2 days ago--then being able to name all the captains ends up seeming like information that falls into the category of "yeah we probably SHOULD all know this, and knife to our throat maybe we do? but also it's lowkey kind of impressive when it turns out anyone actually does." Which tracks with the divisions largely operating as independent units and it being more practical to know your own colleagues vs. the heads of some other division utterly irrelevant to your day-to-day. (In my workplace, the only division head I can name is my own and there's only five of them to begin with.)
Anyway, my point is, Kubo cooked with this mostly because now you can be writing fanfic, and trying to figure out the Bleach timeline on a post-it (do not recommend) and realize, "Oh lol, I guess X was VC at the same time that Y was whatever, and so they should probably know SOMEthing about each other? That's annoying. How am I supposed to--"
And then subsequently realize, "Haha none of these fucks are keeping track. They can literally just not know these things and it's completely canon compliant. It's fine anyway moving on--"

Think of it, it’s 2026, John has been alone for nearly 100 fucking years. He’s stuck in some random object, probably another book. He doesn’t want to go back to the king, so he waits. He waits until someone, probably one of Arthur’s distant relatives, finds the book within their great {times a lot} grandfather’s keepsakes. They open it, and now he has someone to talk to again…even if he doesn’t understand shit about the 21st century.
