When he's away filming or doing voice work, you'll get random voicemails. In character. Sometimes it's Alan, exhausted and yearning: "It's me. Just wanted to hear your voice. Leave a light on for me." Sometimes it's Dr. Darling, manic and affectionate: "GOOD NEWS! I've discovered that thinking about you increases my resonance by 47%. This is VERY important research. Call me back. I love you." You save every single one.

He’s a little insecure and sometimes doubts, because he thinks you are too good for him. ‘I’m 60, baby. A dinosaur in round glasses’. Or ‘Are you sure you want to be seen with me? I'm just the weird guy who sang about a champion of light’. He gets misty-eyed. He believes you, eventually - because you say that you love him every day until he does.

Physical touch all the way, baby. Hand on the small of your back as he walks past. Foot hooked around your ankle under the table. Leaning against you while waiting in line. He doesn't even realize he's doing it half the time - touching is just how he connects. And when he is tired and you’re just there, he might put his whole weight on you like a big cat he that he is.

I feel like he is an old soul. Loves the classics. Black-and-white films. Frank Sinatra on vinyl. Handwritten letters sent through actual mail. He knows how to dance - properly, not the theater kid version. And also believes in things like chivalry because he’s an old gentleman like that.
