Why Noodle wasn't uncared for even without her band mates help
One of the reasons why I love Cass Brown and Matt Wakeham is that even if 2d and Murdoc were created to act ill equipped/ didn't bother to raise Noodle and Russel was mentally out of commission for the latter half of her childhood, Cass still bothered to make up characters to give her guidance and care. It really goes to show how far her quotes "you make your own luck!" and "Don't look for all your happiness in one place" Was embedded in her phase 1 and 2, and how she found good in the darkest of places while her fellow band mates failed to. This post is dedicated to the unsung people who took and cared for little Noodle in phase 1:
(p.s this can also prove 9 years old Noodle didn't only have 2d, Murdoc or Russel in order for them to have any guardian /parental authority. She went to those with support and was with whoever she liked)
1. Dr Kyuzo (duh!)
Hes introduced right when Noodles reliving every single thing that happened to her before her amnesia. His role was to unravel the balled up threads of Noodles past. I can imagine he calmed her down and stayed with her, maybe held her hand as she processed 10 years worth of trauma and abuse. He then inspired and empowered her to use that darkness and manifest something beautiful from it aka Demon Days. A mentor indeed!
I also like to think he got her the plushie (and that's why Noodle's holding it up so proudly)
2. Alan
Not many people know about him, but he was hired as Noodles trainer and translator, the actual reason the boys could talk to her at all (although Murdoc still complained of not understanding Noodles cryptic words lol) and according to phase 1 interviews, was very tough despite looking unconventional (I can see Noodle adopting this from him). It must be so relieving for Noodle to have someone who could remotely understand her and converse with her (Russel reports she never liked to talk about herself with them). I love that Alan had this tendency to arrive late in interviews, but when he did, Noodle would spill pure poetry. Noodle also seems to have adopted that trait, because she frequently arrives late everywhere, whether it's the demon days concert or on plastic beach to rescue 2d!
3. Nature
He's only mentioned once in their autobiography during the phase 1 tour, but he was a key figure in mentally supporting Noodle when she was actively spiralling because of the newfound nightmares (that were actually past memories of her military service as a child soldier) Russel had tried to cheer her up with a jetpack when she started getting moody (the others didn't bother noticing anything lol) but Nature supposedly sat with her and counseled her, without having any obligation to either (because he's introduced as Murdocs bodyguard) I find that very sweet
