collection of photos and thoughts by fibs, of vague resemblance.
Mine, unless stated otherwise.
Photos mostly exclusively, no AI. a good trick of the light is enough.
you may know me from @phimeirai (i post drawings there) and this is my photo blog !
I've been getting the bug to take pictures more deliberately lately and I so happen to remember tumblr was like the peak photo website and also I still see nice photosets on here that make me go "ahh thats nice.." so i figured. hey. blawg.
I primarily like taking pictures of greenery, clouds, and bugs. once I can invest in better gear, I do want to take the time for quality birding, but i will try with what I got in the meantime.
I will try to tag and or identify things if I know them(or maybe even ask honestly), but DO know that i will post arachnids, crustasceans, and insects and the like. maybe even mushrooms. viewer discretion is advised .
I will probably try random shit anyway so you might see an assortment of things, like macro or perhaps product photo or street photo for fun. but primarily nature because thats pretty fun to me.
As stated on blog description, everything here is taken by me unless stated, and either I will try funky funny image editing. no fucking ai i hate ai we rawdog images in the real baby!!!!!

Current Gear vvv

Canon EOS Rebel T5
its not great, but not bad either. I got this camera for my GD course ten years ago, and I see its weaknesses as an entry grade, but also, its a nice DSLR, and thats the best I could ask. it takes the pictures niceys. shes doing her best! (for now.)(im considering a body upgrade but probably to DSLRs)(dont @ me about mirrorless ive thought about it but i like my mirrors)
Canon EFS 18-55mm 1:3.5 - 5.6 IS II
there's not a whole lot to say, its a kit lense. it does the job. you can get real close to stuff, but not real macro close. but hey, it works.
Canon EF 75-300mm 1:4 - 5.6 III
get a load of this guy
its my other lense, with high zoom. it has a bevy of issues and I always thought I was using it wrong, but it just so happens to not be the best, objectively speaking. it still nets some results but I have thoughts about it. the lack of an stabilizer and lousy DC motor for AF leave a lot to be desired.
Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM
woah thats like stuff and things.
this one is new and as of writing I dont have it in my paws just yet. ive been looking forwards to using it! great range, stabilizer, and USM focus motor. its... heavier by a bit to the 75-300, but I will opinate about it when i get to use it.

after a brief field run with the ef 28-135mm in the garden at crummy overcast conditions + 56mm extension tube combo i can safely say: oh my goddd man this is so much funnnn
thoughts
i think this mightve been my best purchase bang-for-buck
i wanted a 50mm prime for macroing with a lightweight set but this is like. i can put my lens at 70mm for close as possible approaches, with amazing sub 1:1 repro but if i can i can aslo increase the focal length to 135mm or 100 and gain amazing standoff distance for more tricky subjects on the fly. its so versatile i love it so much. and the lens's USM! you can do a quick scan withthe AF and then just manually override to just the right sweetspot. its so useful.
I thought due to the length of the whole assembly (17~cm , 23 with hood) it would be a pain to use but its actually really easy, either due to better distributed weight, or the IS in the lens. this has been an absolute joy i had forgotten when was the last time i had so much fun setting up targets
