My interpretation of the Souls. The purple one may look a little familiar…But anyways, Dark Blue and Purple are siblings.
well, nine years later. in light of new designs, I honestly didn’t do too bad back in my first attempt!!!

just did my e shot in the great plains of utah. also took a piss here. very beautiful state
So, time loops as a concept are already kinda horror-adjacent if you think about it. Being trapped to relive the same day over and over without any way to stop it and wondering if youre losing your mind is a concept ripe for horror
But one thing ive never seen done in a horror scenario is a long-term time loop. Sure, reliving the same day is rough, but what about reliving a week? a month? a year? multiple years?
Imagine a character dying and then being sent back a year. They live that year in confusion and anxiety, but maybe a little excited about the prospect. But then on the same day, they die again, and are sent back. rinse and repeat. What happens to the brain of a healthy person when it has to accommodate for decades of extra information, decades of extra memories? When or if the time loop ends, will they even be the same person? The human brain can statistically only hold so many memories, so depending on how long theyre in the loop, they could start to forget their childhood, their birthday 5 years ago, then their vacation a year ago, then what they had for lunch a day before the loop started, until eventually the only memories left are the memories of the loop
“Humans have very odd tastes. They think their music is beautiful. They are wrong. It is awful. All of it. And they completely ignore their greatest accomplishments: the cinnamon bun, the Snickers bar, the hot pepper, and the refreshing beverage called vinegar.”
- Ax, Book #8: The Alien, pg. 81 (by K.A. Applegate)
hope nobody made that yet

Monument Mythos has got to be one of my favorite niche internet horror series' ever. Season 1 is a digestible yet incredibly dense anthology series about the supernatural origins of famous monuments and landmarks in America, but then season 2 is the most batshit insane lore dump you have ever witnessed and the tonal whiplash snaps your neck immediately
Season 2 of MM features a Crisis on Infinite Earths-esque event where an alternate Earth gets wiped from existence, and one of the few survivors is the 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon, who becomes Doctor Manhattan and banishes himself to the moon where he spends his days pondering, and Frank Sinatra, who becomes a Kryptonian Batman
I think it kinda puts it into perspective how dire shit is rn when i havent seen a single "dont give up on the south"/"the south isnt a lost cause" post in the past couple years
Before, basically the year or so following every election, you'd see quite a lot of posts from queer people living in the south begging to not be forgotten, but in their place theyve been replaced by a dozen gofundme's and kofi links for queer folk to move out of the south that all basically boil down to this:
Sometimes i forget that MCU Peter still exists in the Copyright Fuck Zone, where hes a part of the mcu but hes not allowed to appear in anything that isnt avengers and isnt allowed to mention any event in any movie that wasnt a spider man movie or an avengers movie
“I’m in grizzly morph, we’re totally outnumbered, and this Hork-Bajir gets behind me and SLASH! This sudden pain! Then, thud, and I realize my arm is on the ground. Hah HAH! On the ground. So you know what I do? I reach down, pick it up, and use it like a club to beat him over the head.” that time when Rachel used her own severed arm as a bludgeon against the unlucky Hork-Bajir that picked a fight with her. a rare gore piece from me. Animorphs is a strong muse in many ways.

Classic SF once again betrayed by a clear, static-free signal and a flat digital screen
This is how I remember classic Who and Star Trek, folks, with signal ghosts and scanning lines (but usually with more static/snow)
Sharing this on my main because it appears from the notes that it's useful for some modern viewers.
You KNOW classic SF used the limited displays of CRT television and the static of transmitted signals the way theaters use stage makeup and lighting to make inexpensive props look great fine— take advantage of the medium! But it's hard to imagine how it looked if you've only seen Blu-ray HD restorations.
I swear to you, despite classic Who using bubble wrap for years as one of its go-to materials that reflected light in interesting ways, we never realized that's what it was.
i can't draw scenery man
