Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I think the hyper-reactionary, hyper-aggressive nature of mid-2010s activism was a pretty large contributing factor as to why everything has gone SO far right in the past decade. This video in particular feels like it was the first domino to fall.
Like this guy made, at worst, a C-tier dad joke, tried to play it off, and then you see the exact moment he realizes this is going south at light speed, and upon trying to leave this incredibly awkward situation (that he 100% still started btw, not taking away from that), he's followed and screamed at.
And now here we are 10 years later, and its virtually impossible to have any debate with anyone even remotely right leaning because for 90% of Republicans, videos like this are forever what they'll associate the Left with, and now we have an actual dictionary definition dictator as a president.
