Monument Mythos has got to be one of my favorite niche internet horror series' ever. Season 1 is a digestible yet incredibly dense anthology series about the supernatural origins of famous monuments and landmarks in America, but then season 2 is the most batshit insane lore dump you have ever witnessed and the tonal whiplash snaps your neck immediately
Season 2 of MM features a Crisis on Infinite Earths-esque event where an alternate Earth gets wiped from existence, and one of the few survivors is the 37th president of the United States, Richard Nixon, who becomes Doctor Manhattan and banishes himself to the moon where he spends his days pondering, and Frank Sinatra, who becomes a Kryptonian Batman
I think it kinda puts it into perspective how dire shit is rn when i havent seen a single "dont give up on the south"/"the south isnt a lost cause" post in the past couple years
Before, basically the year or so following every election, you'd see quite a lot of posts from queer people living in the south begging to not be forgotten, but in their place theyve been replaced by a dozen gofundme's and kofi links for queer folk to move out of the south that all basically boil down to this:

Classic SF once again betrayed by a clear, static-free signal and a flat digital screen
This is how I remember classic Who and Star Trek, folks, with signal ghosts and scanning lines (but usually with more static/snow)
Sharing this on my main because it appears from the notes that it's useful for some modern viewers.
You KNOW classic SF used the limited displays of CRT television and the static of transmitted signals the way theaters use stage makeup and lighting to make inexpensive props look great fineβ take advantage of the medium! But it's hard to imagine how it looked if you've only seen Blu-ray HD restorations.
I swear to you, despite classic Who using bubble wrap for years as one of its go-to materials that reflected light in interesting ways, we never realized that's what it was.

going back to clean up the doodles I had from when I was starting Joe Kellys run on SB94 (it could have been so good if it was not the early 2000s and joe kelly wasnt trying too hard to sound quirky and also cut the dialogue in like Half cuz the word salad was crazy you did not need to yap that much)

The increased availability of 3D printers for consumer use has been a double-edged sword
On one side, its revolutionized the cosplay world, stuff like armor and weapons that at one point used to take months to make could now be made sturdier and in a few weeks (depending on the prop). For an (admittedly pretty hefty) entry fee, any person could make suits of armor or swords or guns of whatever they want, or even learn CADD to make their own stuff, so long as they have the will to learn the skills needed
On the other side, like half of the vendor hall at any given con is filled with booths selling the same 3d printed flexy dragon and dragon eggs that they printed with $0.75 of filament being sold for $20
