A battered spoon digs into his own steaming dinner, lifting free an impressive butter-garnished mound that he proceeds to eat with slow- almost indecent- enjoyment, even as brown eyes crinkle wickedly up at the other man.

Or so he says, but his eyes are tracking Cathal’s movements, eyeing the potato the whole time-- well, almost. It’s pretty clear just which part he thinks is gross, looking back to his own gift before the man can take another bite.

He was pretty hungry. And, well-- it didn’t look that bad. So he sits, holding this potato and feeling a little more than ridiculous. How quaint.
