Oh, friends.

I am so tired. 

I am tired of mass shootings. I tired that news about stabbings, shootings, and killings are becoming commonplace and that we all are becoming numb to it.

I am tired of nationalism. And I am tired that in a nation like Great Britain that claims to be one of the world’s greatest that so many people believe their way to be the only way. 

What makes a nation great isn’t our similarities, it is our differences.

It is the refugees and migrant workers that cross border after border to make a new home for themselves, so they and their families can survive.

It is the Irish Travellers and the Roma people, who continue to be discriminated against but against all odds still have a vibrant and unique culture.

It is the first generation British citizen whose parents are immigrants and who is trying to reconcile their citizenship with their ethnic identity.

It is all of those people, and more. Whatever the results of the referendum, whatever people’s opinions on it, remember that we fall when we are divided by hatred.
