My preference is that the children are never found, even though they are all alive. I imagine that one day, when civilization is a bit stable, when Linda and Liane have grown old and the children are adults, they might accidentally cross paths but without ever recognizing one another.

This may not be an ideal ending for many tho lol but I think some relationships are defined not by reunion but by distance.
