Foo For Thought

Has been working.

It is simple: to give the humans enough love that they will NEVER forget me when their kitten is born.

I've even started giving kisses to the male, as much as it disgusts me. But they love it, and me, and that is all that matters.

My female's pregnancy has taken so much from me. No longer can I lay on her stomach as she sleeps. Now, if I even step on her stomach, it's a race between her and the child to see who kicks me off faster.

I fear that the arrival of the child will leave me pushed to the side, no longer useful for her cuddles and affection.

There is always the male, but he is usually concerned with the female and her well-being. Of course, I fear for her well-being as well, but who is left to fear for mine?

I am told there are 3 months left until the arrival of the child. That is 3 months for me to plot, and put into action, a plan to secure my place in the females heart. A place that no other youngling can fill.

I have taken to sitting on purple mouse every time the humans are near. Just at night, though, when they are most likely to kidnap him and hide him until the morning.

Poor purple mouse... he's my greatest companion in this apartment, he keeps me company while the humans are gone or otherwise preoccupied...

Fetch has evolved.

If I bring purple mouse to my humans bed while they are slumbering, one of them will always wake up and throw purple mouse for me! It's genius.

...Until the male gets overwhelmed, and kidnaps purple mouse.

My human's have been talking about adopting another cat before their kitten is born... I admire their passion for saving my fellow felines, but how much of their love am I expected to share?!

Just now, I was asleep on the table, when the female passed by and said "Way to take up the whole coffee table, Lord Fluffington."

I know that my name is Sebastien, and that my nickname "Foo" comes from the children's poem "Little Bunny Foo Foo" which they changed to "Little Kitty Foo Foo," which unfortunately stuck as Foo... but the humans constantly call me by names which I do not understand.

This morning, I was awoken by the female patting my head and saying "Hullo, Munchkin Nuts."
