And lots of people I've known over my 20's who struggled with people pleasing tendencies including myself often feel defensive about wanting people to read their minds or small cues about what they are or not comfortable with and it's all circling the inability to state your needs or boundaries clearly and uphold them

And people expect you to do for them what they do for others even if that habit they do is dishonest or unhealthy, they still expect it in return if they think it's right, and I am a firm believer that you need to be able to let people express themselves to you and take their word for it, not decide on your own what they might "really" mean

Like if someone says they aren't mad at you, then it's not insensitive to go okay so I will treat you like you aren't mad because you're an adult who I respect and trust enough to not lie and to communicate if you have an issue

And people will really be like you should have known I didn't mean what I said I just said it cause I didn't know how to express myself
