For this project we had to research our own family history and present them onto two boards. The family we presented was my partner's, Daniel Chow.

PSY - Carefree Restaurant
This final project is actually for us to present our overall understanding on social psychology context and the application. In a group of 4-5, we are to choose a topic of interest from ranges of social psychology discussion. Then, create a built environment design that reflects the topic.
We chose to do a concept restaurant where people from all walks of life can come together and have a meal.
From this project I learned that the most common place where humans meet is the restaurant. Thus, the concept of bringing everyone together there can break down the social barriers of our society.
PSY - Comic Strip
My comic strip was about discrimination; where a man assumes that the fat valet couldn't run fast enough as compared to a skinny valet.
This assignment made me realise that nothing is what it seems. That one should not assume the good or bad out of person just by judging their appearance.
PSY - Journal 2
The second journal was about stereotypes. The topic I chose is the feminine and masculine stereotype.
This journal made me realise the daily stereotypical behaviours shouldn't be made into a norm. These stereotypes must end for people to live in harmony.
PSY - Journal 1
The first journal was about social settings; how people react to certain settings in daily life. The setting I chose was the presentation day of one of our projects.
While writing this journal, I realised that everything is set the way it is for people to react in an intended way. It puts things into a different perspective.

C&C - Project 3
It's the final project! For this one, we were to pick a theme and go out, take picture and make a photobook. I chose religious places. For a few weeks, we had to document our researches and our photographs in a weekly journal. Click here to view mine.
Through this project I learned that composition in photos and in making a photobook is important. I really liked this project because I have an interest in photography.
C&C - Project 2
In a group of 10, we gathered and were to prepare a play of a country's history. Mine was Japan and we wanted to show different messages; the birth of Japan, the first shogun, the makings of the Tenjin fastival and the Tenjin festivals itself. Preparations leading up to the script writing were all documented on the group's padlet.

Report
I've learned so much through this project. It opened my eyes to the complexity of the Japanese history and the uniqueness of its culture. This project actually made me understand the history and the culture a lot more. Other than that, my sewing skills went up!
ITD - DPJ 3
For the third DPJ, we had to understand how a display box functions.
ITD - DPJ 2
After learning so much about our character, we had to choose 3 words that best describe our character. I chose patriotic, strong and loyal. Then, we had to translate those words into design principles.
ITD - DPJ 1
We were given the freedom to choose our own lego character and do a research on it. Thus, I chose Captain America, a character so close to my heart. He is strong, patriotic and loyal to his friend; traits that I want for myself. In the first DPJ, we were to explore and research about our characters.

ITD - Project 2B
As our final project, we had to make a display box for our toy Lego. My character was Captain America. the display box had to be based on a certain word. Thus, I chose loyalty.
I learned a lot through this project. One of which is that I should not be afraid of my ideas. That I should not only be content with my concept but also evolve rapidly in every possible.
ITD - Project 2A
We were given a word which we had to translate into 3D designs. Ours was systematic. Each week, we progressed our models in the form of colours and materials.
Through this project, I've learned that the progression of a model is important in its making. It is important to constantly progress the design, with changing the materials, colours and more.
ITD - Project 1B
We were given one object to use in making a design following design principles. For my group, our objects was buttons. We had to stick to one shape, one size and one colour.
This was the result of our efforts. The buttons were individually sown onto canvas.
I learned that we have to understand our materials; the usage, the ways to bond them together and their main purpose. Often I felt like we couldn't do much with buttons but I was wrong once I understood that I should play and understand my material.
ITD - Project 1A
We set off to Malacca as part of our project for the Introduction to Design module. We were to take pictures of both nature and built environment to sketch using drawing techniques.
Through this project I learned that different techniques of hatching are really useful in bringing out the elements in a sketch.
EPC - Mural Paintings
For this assignment, we were to present on a mural painting or and area with mural paintings of our choice. I have chosen Leboh Ampang, home to the Malaysian Model Heart Kit mural.
Galeri Petronas in Suria KLCC introduced me to the mural.
The brochure from the exhibition gallery showed me the exact location of the mural.

This assignment allowed me to understand a different form of expression of our thoughts and ideas. This form, art, allows the viewers to interpret the artists' intention in their own way.

EPC - Religious Buildings
For this assignment, we were to pick a religious building and present our points. I chose Hagia Sophia, the church built in ancient Instanbul. Now Hagia Sophia started out as a church but later on turned into a mosque during the Ottoman invasion and then in 1935, converted into a museum.
Hagia Sophia from the outside
Cross sections of the building allowed me to understand it better and present it in a simpler view.
The documentary that allowed me to understand the building a lot more.

I've learned a lot from this assignment. I've learned that any space can be reoriented according to the majority of people that surrounds it.
EPC - Photo Blog
In a group, we were to walk around Central Market and capture its life. Learning verbal and non-verbal communication allowed us to analyse the behaviour of interaction between people. Walking around Central Market, a popular tourist attraction, we were able to observe a contrast in culture and interaction. Locals were always seen with foreigners by their side, explaining and introducing our culture to them.
There are two foreigners accompanied by a local lady (in the brown scarf) who is seen translating what the shop owner says.
This building, the KTM Berhad building, stands tall event through the decades. It gives us an insight of the interesting life that goes on in the past.
This row of shop lots was built to fully utilise the space between the road and the parking lot.
This project has made me realise that there is so much happening in our surroundings. We just have to stop and listen. These stories whispered though the winds are interesting and speak volumes about the past, present and future.
