Cloudjumper had returned...but barely.

His latest expeditions, which he had endured daily as of late, consisted of him scanning far and wide for raiders or dragon-hunters who wished to harm his Clan and Valka’s way of life....the life she had secured for them and fought to protect. And Cloudjumper would not stand for it.

He didn’t want anyone to convey him as weak. Especially not Valka, whom he felt extremely protective of. Her, and all of her two-legged family, blood or not.

The Stormcutter had stumbled and nearly collapsed on the ground, sides heaving for air. A few new nicks and scratches littered his crest and tail, red and stinging. Thankfully for him, they nearly blended in to his dusty rouge scales. The dragon managed to open one eye and glance over, a scratchy rumble bubbling gently past his throat.

Guess who’s making another “sorry I’ve been gone forever” post? I am. Prior to today, for literal months, my laptop was laggy and the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. it also had a lot of malware. Yesterday, I finally got it fixed!!

My drive for roleplaying characters still dear to me and reconnecting with my writing partners has been increasing and I’m at a place where I can be writing more consistently. I hope you all will have me back!

The young Stormcutter grumbled in contentment as he was given attention, wings splayed to get the most pets possible.

At Eugene’s suggestion, he murmured in confusion, tilting his head and righting himself so he was sitting and gazing quizzically at his companion. Would he not crush the boy?

Cloudjumper shrugged and grinned, his crest flaring as his excitement too grew. He leapt at Eugene, trying to scramble onto his back.

What had first seemed like a good idea to him was quickly turning into more than Eugene could pack. Literally. He made it about two steps far with Cloudjumper still trying to get on his back, before he landed face-down in the grass.

“Maybe-” He spoke nasally into the dirt “we need a different plan.” With new mud under his fingernails he managed to prop himself up and smiled. “We could take the cart of my aunt! We-” Before he could elaborate further, he landed back in the dirt. With his arms flailing and gasping for air, he set his mind on this new plan.

Cloudjumper, undoubtedly amused, gave a throaty chortle before sliding off and righting himself next to the boy. And, in dramatic flair, prodded Eugene with a claw as if worried he were dead.

The dragon thought about Eugene’s new suggestion, and after deciding it was a good one, nodded once and without consulting his companion, grasped his tunic in his jaws- gently- and tried to haul him to his feet as if to say “let’s go!”
