I strongly believe that this is one of the most powerful songs on the Crybaby album. I love how the tone is a little sarcastic at first and then the chorus comes and it’s like Crybaby’s tone is sad and concerned, asking Mr. And Mrs. Potato Head if it was worth it. This song is such an in-your-face truth. People are being insecure of things they shouldn’t be insecure of and feeling like their bodies were mistakes they were meant to fix. Nowadays almost everything and anything is accepted. Plastic surgery has become the norm. “If you feel insecure about it, change it!” Was what I last heard. But here Mel says it’s not okay. Mel says youre not broken, you are loved. What do you need so bad that you cant get with your natural beauty? Are we that desparate? Are we that lonely? Who are we trying to impress? Imagine your kid, your nephew or your little sister, hating their bodies and wanting to do anything and everything to change it or to look like someone else? It feels sick. It feels sad. Is this ALL life is about? Looking sexy or beautiful and being complimented? ALSO, I’m not shaming anyone who has undergone plastic surgery or is thinking about it I just hope it was done for all the right reasons and not because you didn’t love yourself before that. Glamour isn’t everything.
