So anyways, good omens marching band au where there is a rivalry between the high brass/winds and low brass winds and Aziraphale is drum major and plays french horn (french horns are underrated and so pretty like GAWDDAYUM) and Crowley plays trombone and is their section leader (fun fact: Henry Filmore (best known for marches and screamers) learned many instruments, including the trombone and according to Filmore's father, a very religious man, the trombone was considered "the instrument of Satan" so I thought it was fitting and not because I'm biased lol.)

Gabriel and the other archangels are section leaders but those bitchy section leaders that talk shit about everyone, ESPECIALLY the low brass/winds and Aziraphale. (Playing on to the fact that principalities are above arch angels)

God is their band director

Aziraphale and Crowley been under the mentorship of (God) band director for a very long time. Even when Crowley switched from a trumpet to a trombone. (I don't because triumph? Heaven? Eh, he was a high brass) they've been with her since elementary school band.

My friend and I have agreed that the little situation we had earlier with the shakos with us literally mirrors the book scene at the church. Probably not as significant but it gets the ball rolling lol

In light of GO3 and the disguised Bentley having French horns (thanks aziraphale!), I'll build upon this.

I imagine that aziracrow spend their music career alongside each other ever since primary school. They both start off on trumpet (both too small for the instruments they'll end up with in the future)

The shako thing happens in secondary school (I made the original post in high school. I didn't even consider the fact that marching band in high school is a completely American thing. Apologies 🦅🦅🦅🦅💥💥💥💥🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅💥💥💥 I'll probably change it to Aziraphale forgetting their sheet music or something)

In their college/university years, they'll move in together but then a falling out after they graduate. (Confession gone wrong)

A few years pass and they both end up in a wind ensemble or orchestra tour together. The friendship builds up again, slowly, but surely. They end up rooming together for the hotel to not pay extra*. Feelings resurface again but they're both too scared to say anything. The "Confession gone wrong" looming over their heads. Scared that it would shatter their friendship again

(*there were indeed two beds. But for whatever reason, the hotel interior designer thought it was a good idea to push the beds together and bolt the headboards in place. Technicalities.)

One night, after the last concert of the tour, they both head back to their hotel room, exhausted and a bit full from dinner. They stand outside the hotel balcony and stargaze a little bit. Maybe even catching up from the years they've been apart. Perhaps their shoulders touch, too.
