“I only wanted to help.”

“You never cared, did you?”

“I wasn’t made to be the hero.”

“Did this mean nothing to you?”

“I used to care what you thought.”

“Please, don’t. Please, don’t leave.”

“I don’t want you here, not anymore.”

“I don’t need anyone else. Not even you.”

“You keep hurting me. I just want to know why.”

”You’ve done nothing but lie to me from the start.”

“I don’t know how to tell you what’s wrong with me.”

“You break my heart. And I don’t know why I let you.”

“If you keep doing this, you’re going to end up dead.”

“Look me in the eye and tell me, again, you don’t care.”

“I just want to help you, but you clearly don’t want me to.”

“You don’t have to do everything on your own, you know.”

“You won’t survive if you stay here… you know that, right?”

“You might not be a villain, but you sure as hell aren’t a hero.”

“Why won’t you let me in? Why do you keep pushing me away?”

“I love you, but I can’t stay here and watch you do this to yourself.”

“Leave if you want. But, if you do, don’t come back. Don’t ever come back.”

“Because I still think you could be a good person, I just think you choose not to.”

“You don’t have to love me, you don’t even have to like me, but I need you here.”

“Why do you keep risking yourself like this? Do you not care whether you live or die?”

“Who’s gone? How?“

“It’s too late. They’re gone.”

“You have not been practicing.“

“That can never happen again.“

“That’s not what I wanted to hear.“

“But I feel fine. I feel perfectly fine!“

“Calm down. There’s nothing here.“

“Doesn’t really matter now, does it?“

“Do you still feel it was a good idea?“

“It’s not real. Remember, it’s not real.”

“You need to send someone to stop him.“

“We need backup! They’re coming at us!“

“It is not for the winning that we practice.“

“I think we should get the hell out of here.“

“They’re all over you. They’re all over you!“

“Can’t you see them? They’re everywhere!“

“People don’t just see things and drop dead.”

“We don’t have time for this. I’m heading out.“

“Well, I don’t care. I mean, I really don’t care.”

“So wait, what? We’re just going to stay here?“

“You think I’m going in there by myself? Uh-uh.“

“This is going to be— I’m going to be fine, right?“

“People are going to keep dying unless we do this.“

“Not really. I guess I’ve been too busy doing my job.“

“If this was really a fight, I would have shot you by now.“

“I can’t imagine how frightening this whole ordeal must be…”

“At the very most, what you’re doing will just slow him down.“

“Stop trying to convince me I’m fine. I think we all know better.”

“And how would something like that survive for all these years?“

“Can you do anything to make it harder to get through those doors?“

“Now, if an opportunity arises, I will send someone to come get you.”

“Don’t worry. My motivations are based entirely on self-preservation.“

“First you think it’s just your eyes playing tricks on you, but eventually..”

“And if they were infected, there’s a very good chance that we were too.“

“Just, please, don’t make me go back there. Really, I’m fine. I feel perfectly fine.“

“Well, we seem to have stumbled across something that I find…a little troubling.“

“Would you mind being a subject of research paper on statistical improbabilities?”

“You know, no matter how many hours I put into this, you’re still going to kick my ass.“

“Just because it’s out of the ordinary for us, doesn’t mean it’s not commonplace here.“

“Get as far away from the nuclear explosion as possible. That’s good advice. Thanks.”

“This this some sort of payback for guys like me beating up guys like you in high school, right?“

“Because I thought it was the best course of action to take. And, by the way, I saved your ass.“

“You’ve been up for almost twenty hours now. You’re not thinking straight. Just try to stay calm.“

“Well, it’s dark, it’s damp, and it smells terrible, but from an engineering standpoint, we’re good.“

“It’s a true/false game. Statistically, just by guessing, you should be getting at least half of these right.“

“And make it sound good, okay? Tell her I died saving someone…kids. I died saving kids, a bunch of them.”

“You seriously have to stop interrupting my last thoughts. I mean, this is important stuff you need to hear.“

“All right, you clowns, listen up. I don’t often get a chance to say this, so savor it: Good work, boys and girls. Let’s go home.”

“You’re only going to have thirty seconds once you release it before it explodes. You need to get as far away as you can.“

REVELRY JUNCTION

You stumble out of a mirror and into a whole mess of your own reflections staring back at you. Outside of that, you see a carnival and beyond that, the outlines of a massive neon city in the distance, surrounded on the edges by dark hills. The moon is large and looming overhead and it casts a slightly unsettling blue-green hue to everything it reaches. Welcome to Revelry Junction.
