one of the reasons why the bangel scene in chosen is so jarring and out of place is that it simultaneously treats angel as if he’s been frozen in time since leaving btvs & hasn’t cultivated a life outside of buffy (namely his relationship with cordy and his son) WHILE ALSO giving him the goofy flirty personality that was completely nonexistent in btvs
