Ostraka of golden flora; a planet lush with life that shines resplendent from prayer— a planet whose atoms are now scattered throughout the stars, or so ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ says.
— “So why does Amphoreus smell of “home”?”
google doc (or view below!)
BIO
Additional Names: PhoTiz002
Other Titles: Bondbearer, Starwalker, Dux Caelestis
Species: True Demigod
Lore Path: Abundance (Emanator and Pathstrider), Trailblaze (Pathstrider)
Jaena is a woman of average height with tanned skin, messy, short brown hair with red undertones that is parted down the middle in messy, layered strands.
She wears a modified, ash-gradient dress with detached sleeves and several gold adornments. Additional gold wrappings and cuffs are found around her biceps, wrists, around her hips, and a gold-trimmed collar.
Her one arm is scarred and stained red from sustained damage from the effects of the black tide, the nails of this hand white. When aggravated, her skin will crack and appear molten.
In her Ultimate's form, she dons a red dress with a deep, plunging neckline that’s lined with gold adornment. Two horn-like protrusions appear on her head, a black tide-corrupted version of a laurel. Two additional heads also appear on either side of her own.
CHARACTER STORIES
A warm soul to bear, she appeared in the cold ruins of Amphoreus, found bathed in the black tide’s plague, unharmed and unaffected by the madness it induced, beset with amnesia.
She accompanies the Chrysos Heirs on their various journeys in an attempt to discover a way home, and dreams of escaping into the stars. Despite her state of unknowing when she develops a sudden bout of amnesia, her muscles are her truth: She is not meant to be here.
Character Story I
To take one’s memories, it is said one’s entire being is lost.
The passage of time is a foil to this belief. If ten thousand hours spent to hone a gift makes one an expert at their craft, what does ten thousand years make them? These years, spent building an existence from the very earth one treads upon; these years, spent teaching a civilization about art and cultivation that she could not fathom, that she had never consciously learned herself--
Time persists. Memories fade. Erosion occurs. Not by intended means; a power higher than her own is at play.
Character Story II
In the beginning, there was darkness. In the beginning, there was a young woman, crippled beneath the earth for a fear of emerging and seeing, of finding she was alone and discovering the darkness there is also quiet. But the wind flutters, a breeze past hopeful ears-- she lifts her head, eyes wide on the sunlit horizon, and reaches her hand toward the light, toward a false hope.
So long had she spent her existence alone, but now, she had a shining companion. Plants bloomed by its guidance and her own cultivation; creatures were birthed, and each morn, she thanked THE floating light.
Then, the darkness returned. THE light had faded, or, had abandoned her.
Character Story III
The land was dubbed Ostraka. In ITS parting, the floating flame had left her one last gift: humanity. They looked like her, spoke similarly, and yet, they were weaker. Mindless without guidance, feeble without providence-- she would teach them to persist as she once had learned to. But they would not be alone as she was.
Adored by “her” people, she could not bear to tell them it was not she they should turn their adorations onto, for they were the ones to name her-- Jaena. In their language, it meant they thought her gracious. For doing her duty? For doing the very thing THE floating light must have been created for? No, she could never tell them their faith was false, for it was she who had always been their benefactor, their protector, their… god.
The two arms that gave life to her also granted her the ability to hold her people with her own, and would do so until the darkness returned.
Character Story IV
It returned in the form of light. Confusion brewed and panic ensued, lives lost and malevolence festered-- the quiet is painful. For so many centuries, she had been blessed to forget this pain. Too many apologies, too many tears, too many bodies held helplessly while their own lights faded, until hers was the only left.
Ostraka was crumbling away, the decay impossible to stop. A god? Her? She, the stand-in for THE floating light who started all of this, was foolish to believe so. If she prayed, would IT return? Would IT hold her? Would IT tell her she was beloved enough to be liberated from her pain?
“You created me for this… and yet you took it all away again. Is this a test? If I drop to my knees and pray to you once more, will you return to take me next?”
What a cruel god, she thinks, body adrift through the hollowness of sky.
Time persists. Memories fade. Erosion occurs.
And then, it repeats; a cruel and beautiful cycle.
TRIVIA
The left-hand side of Jaena’s official introduction artwork reads “As a Trailblazer, it is an honour to bear these bonds” in Amphoreus Script.
During the Trailblaze Mission Silver Chariot, Part With That Humanity’s Epic, these words are used by the Trailblazer in Jaena’s ending in As I’ve Written.
While not said as parting words, because the Trailblazer and Mem had already inscribed her into the book, they thought it fitting to complete her Amphoreus saga before continuing on.
Jaena has the following aliases:
Yoke of Idyll (title in As I’ve Written, Amphoreus’ Saga of Heroes)
Bondbearer (by Aglaea)
Dux Caelestis (by Cerydra)
Jae (by Tribbie)
Firefish (by Hysilens)
Starwalker (by the Trailblazer)
Jaena is the first anomaly found within Lygus’s Amphoreus experiment, forcibly implanted into it by Yaoshi’s interference.
Rather than keep trying to remove her, he integrated her into each iteration and cycle, and allowed her memory to remain through each cycle until it became a detriment to his experiment, using her existence, knowledge, and memories to fuel Amphoreus’ development.
It is calculated that Jaena became trapped within Scepter δ-me13’s cycles for over two thousand normal years, across eleven Amber Eras.
Jaena is said to be roughly under three thousand years old, and was created shortly before the Second Mechanical Emperor’s War.
The light that Jaena’s character stories refer to had been Yaoshi of the Abundance.
She calls THEM a “floating flame” because her eyes hadn’t fully grown yet, and THEIR light was all they could see. When Jaena matured, Yaoshi left.
According to Evernight, Jaena’s MBTI is INFP.
ETYMOLOGY
Jaena (Hebrew: “god is gracious”) is a name given to her by the people of Ostraka.
Prior to this, Yaoshi had named her Jiā (Chinese: 家, “home”). Embittered by her abandonment, she accepted humanity’s name for her, instead.
Following the same pronunciation as with Janusopolis, “Jaena” is not pronounced as “Jay-na”, rather, “Yae-na”.
PhoTiz002 derives from the Ancient Greek word φωτίζω, phōtízō, meaning to enlighten, illuminate, or bring to light.

ASCENSION & TRACE MATERIALS
VOICE OVERS
*Voice lines are unlocked after Gods, Sound the Anthem of Creation
First Meeting: You may call me Jaena. I hope, sometime soon, I’ll be able to share with you something more interesting of myself. Once I remember it, of course.
Greeting: The sun shines upon us once more, friend. Are you prepared for the day?
Parting: So soon? Mm… take care, then. Stay well until next we meet.
About Self: Amnesia: When I first awoke, the sky was dark… nary a star in the sky. I can remember warmth, and then, softness… and the scent of the blazing sun. So comforting. I was told I was brought to Okhema after “escaping” the black tide. Before that… I remember nothing. Not where I came from, not… who I was. I am lucky I remember my name.
*About Self: Chimera: According to that Anaxagoras boy, in the most simple of terms, Lygus gave his experiment basic conditions within its “genetic makeup” to emulate life. Naturally, as an outlier, I… manipulated the experiment unwittingly and helped to create the Chimera you see in Amphoreus today with my history… in a sense. Er, how many have I owned? You don’t own Chimera, friend. They own you.
Chat: Chrysos Heirs: I was not permitted to join the Flame-Chase Journey as an Heir, my condition too unpredictable… which is fair. These brave people saved me, gave me shelter… I could not dare to be a detriment to such a grand cause.
*Hobbies: Music: It is difficult to have one or two hobbies when I’ve had centuries upon centuries to enjoy all life offers… If I had to choose, however… it would be playing the lyre. In times of strife and great sorrow, I would often play it to soothe wounded souls.
Annoyances: Shoes: I do not understand the necessity of encasing one’s feet in such uncomfortable materials. If you are concerned with stepping on something and hurting yourself, perhaps better care should be taken on where you step…
*Something to Share: Memories: One of my earliest memories I could recover has me crawling out from the earth, using limbs I could not control. When I emerged, safe and whole, I could flex my fingers and wrap those same arms around myself. These arms did not belong to me. For such a long time, I had felt disconnected from them. I realize… it is because they had nothing to hold onto yet except for myself.
Knowledge: The Black Tide: Strangely, the destructive phenomena that has plagued much of Amphoreus does not hurt me. That is to say, I heal too quickly for it to hurt me. And so, while the Chrysos Heirs can complete their journey, I’ll keep paving their way by clearing the black tide. I owe them this much.
About Cyrene: Throughout my time in Amphoreus, “love”, and its variants, was always a common constant. Do we have you to thank for this, Cyrene?
About Phainon: The one constant since waking up in a place I did not recognize… was his warmth. Not once had he failed in sending a smile my way, in spite of the heavy burden upon his shoulders… I… hardly know what to feel, sometimes, when I receive it. “Happy”... isn’t nearly strong enough.
*About Phainon: The loneliness one endures spent in pure and utter solitude, and the loneliness one endures surrounded by the loss of loved ones… are hardly comparable. I spent many millennia watching Amphoreus grow into its final form, through to this final cycle, unable to protect him from this loneliness. I will live with this regret for the rest of my existence.
About Aglaea: I… respect her decision in refusing me as a Chrysos Heir. Dwelling on the matter is neither here nor there, but at the very least, if I cannot bear a Coreflame in their stead, I can at least be her vanguard against the black tide.
About Tribbie, Trianne, and Trinnon: In my memories, I remember so vividly her kindness and wisdom as “Lady Tribios”. It seems, in splicing her form so many times, she has managed to regain that bright, childlike splendor.
About Cerydra: While I would not have approved of her methods as a leader, I can at least appreciate her dedication to the Flame-Chase. I am sure it was not a decision made lightly. The weight on her shoulders must not have been easy to bear.
About Hysilens: Only the brightest of fish have been known to illuminate the darkest depths. With her music, Miss Hysilens does the same above ground.
About Cipher: … perhaps I am just a little jealous of Miss Cipher’s feline attributes.
About Castorice: The purest of hearts reside within Miss Castorice. I can tell.
About Anaxa: While I do appreciate his effort to simplify knowledge for me, I cannot help but to feel like a flailing infant even then… Perhaps I’ll just nod and smile along.
About Hyacine: It is such a joy to see Miss Hyacine in her element. Someone so pure of heart and valiant in nature, I do not believe the Amphoreus of today could do without such a soul. I have much to learn from her, it seems.
About Mydei: Stubborn man. He feels pain all the same, and yet he refuses the relief healing brings in favour of his own regenerative abilities. Fine, then. See if I care…
About (Trailblazer): You, who has saved countless worlds, and countless lives… Saying “thank you” is hardly enough.
About March 7th: She certainly lived up to her companion’s description of her. Lively, capable, er… unpredictable…
About Dan Heng: The calm within a storm-- it is no wonder he is so greatly trusted by his companions.
Eidolon Activation: Allow me to finally return the favour.
Character Ascension: Even in smouldered flames, embers continue to glow.
Max Level Reached: It’s certainly gotten hotter in here, no?
Trace Activation: Lean on me; I’ll keep us warm.

Trace Activation: Lean on me; I’ll keep us warm.

she had never been particularely good at hiding the way she felt about him, it was written all over her face every time their eyes met, and especially now, as she sat comfortably on his lap in the privacy of his room. he really was unfairly beautiful. the realization alone was enough to paint her cheeks in the softest shade of pink. "what do you think you're doing?" he asked almost amused as the corners of his lips twitched into the smallest smile. "hold still," she mumbled, trying—and failing—to hide her own embarrassment. "just close your eyes," her fingertips rose and grazed his cheek with a touch so gentle, it felt foreign to him. he looked confused for a moment before closing his eyes, if this was what she wanted, then who was he to deny his beloved? one second later he could feel the softness of her lips brush against the bridge of his nose. it was barely a kiss, mostly the ghost of a touch, but it was enough to make him hold his breath as the heat found its way to his cheeks as well. when he opened his eyes again, she was blushing fiercly, still cradling his face ever so gently.
mkay i'm all shy now after letting you into our early relationship stages where i'm still jumpy like a scared critter. 𐔌՞ ܸ.ˬ.ܸ՞𐦯 this was the very first time i didn't run away from him when things got... a little more than just two people coincidentally in the same room...
“What was that song you were playing? When Oti Alfalfa and I came to meet you for the first time. Can you play it again?”
“There’s a book named after it, actually,” he says as he settles once more in the place you’ve come to know him, that leather-bound piano bench where his back straightens and he is no longer a broken, bent-winged bird. “A man kills his wife in jealousy, thinking that she loves her music more than she loves him and so she must have turned to infidelity.”
“How morbid,” you say, though you’ve undoubtedly seen worse in your time as a detective. Crimes of passion, they’re horrible every time but not uncommon, not in the slightest.
“It was a social commentary on Penaconian culture,” he says. “Hedonism and lust and all."

…the wisteria is in full bloom this evening.
perhaps master is right— my age has really caught up to me, for lately i have been calling off work early… yet i cannot actually mind this regression. not when at the end of the day, i get to see my friends, and especially her.
everyone is busy at the time, she said. somehow i felt quite pleased of that fact.
she offered me tea, but i found myself more captivated by the idea of sitting next to her under the flourishing buds. i urged my companion to talk of her day; my aging muscles and exhaustion seemed to relax whenever she did. the bundled butterflies hairpin i gifted her years ago pinned her hair nicely; my creation is durable, as always. but i feel especially proud of the fact that it is something she possesses and must have taken good care of.
another thing— my 睡莲, ever so kind friend, offered me her lap to rest on. do i look so worn out? perhaps i should ask baiheng for rejuvenating beauty products recommendations…
…anyway, my feelings got the better of me and i allowed myself a little indulgence of her attention. i recall a few scolding words from her as i lie there; although i was too fixated on the gentle glint of her— and my— ring to actually listen. it was a rather crude piece of work and i wince at the crooked hercules knot everytime i look too close. but perhaps… someday i could craft a better band fitting for the nymphaea-hearted lady…
this moment is seared in my memory, no matter how time and age will erode it… even if it would only add to the regret once my time in this world finally arrives.
> note: she blends into the blooming scenery perfectly… i wonder if it’s because of her otherworldly lineage? or if my eyes are perceiving her with… [the writing on this page has become illegible due to time’s erosion…]
if you reached this point and actually read everything… what the hell /love + thank you a billion times TT i rlly wanted to picture and share smth about renkai’s past— when they were friends and somewhat naive + unaware of what will come, enjoying the wisteria blooms… i also um planted several easter eggs over this diary entry-esque caption lol!!!!! anw dividers credit goes to ourianna @/diviniyae and the comm was done by @/tunasthe2nd <33 who was so lovely and fun to work with!
“How else are you going to protect me from The Wild Hunt?”
“…Aren’t you a Harbinger?”
“No, I’m just Ajax with you.”
"...I'll let that slide since it's your birthday..."

A new addition to the Seaside Museum: a portrait of the former Crown Princess. Up until this discovery, the Seaside Museum exhibited the sole remains of her, an official royal portrait. But now, the newest addition shows something which was unknown even to history books, as her sudden disappearance remained a mystery until today, and still does, as this only allows but a blink into her life possibly after her alleged disappearance. Go visit the Seaside Museum and compare the differences between the portraits as they hang side by side.
