Surround yourself with people who will Build you up Not tear you down Don’t let a rotten apple Make you sick Just don’t eat it And if you do, Throw it up and move on

Smile. Because you can. Because somewhere you read that you can trick your brain into thinking you’re happy There are many things out of your control Even your thoughts But take a second. Compose yourself. Find the good things. And smile Smile until you believe your own lies.

Things are better than they feel Reality twisted like a knife Stabbing me deep, Leaving bloody drops with each step Desires clashing with goals And time As always The enemy? Or is the hidden enemy the unseen shadow Darkening every step Uncovering the massacre that has trailed me

Sometimes I break too easily Sometimes I bend in the wind Other times I’m too rigid I’ll snap The balance alludes me And I crumble to pieces

In the room Where there is no light The sun doesn’t sleep But the stars never come out

I sit Waiting for something to move me An inspiration to slam A motivation to rise Something that sparks me into motion That disrupts this unsettling calm Because I cannot be still and static Waiting to start being me

When lights dim and the flower dies I know I missed my time A mournful cry ripped from me Because time has flown me by

Soaring into oblivion with you by my side everything feels right and perfect just staying here with you tonight
