It’s been 3 years since you hurt me. 3 long hard years, I don’t think about you as much. you’re still there and it still hurts I still worry about seeing you, but you don’t have a hold over me like you used too, I survived you. I am no longer the weak little girl that I was. I am no longer the scared child. I Grow Up I don’t hate you, you don’t deserve it I am still here. I am still standing I no longer want to die, there was a time what I didn’t think I’d live to see the new year. there was a time I didn’t want to and I look forward to it now because every new year means I’m still here and you didn’t win, means I moved on. I’m not damaged I’m broken but broken things can be fixed.

It’s funny sometimes I can feel like it was only yesterday other times it feels like it was so long ago 3 years I’m now in to my twenties an age I never thought I’d see. Yet here I am breathing, working, getting an education, functioning not because of you but in spite of you.
