"That’s good. I couldn’t be bothered to defend the shit flag or whatever it is."

"To be honest, I don't think the blues care. We could probably just walk in and take their flag, but why waste the effort? It'd probably just start drama anyways." She shrugged. No one had actually tried to get one of the flags for a while now.

"Yeah.  No. Maybe. Who’s asking, huh?" Kai interrogated, watching with curious eyes and a ridiculously relaxed posture. 

"Me. I'm the rookie over on Red team. Hakan. Nice to meet you!" She held out her hand to the other girl.

She nods. “Then you might expect to be put on the front lines often.” By front lines she meant, you will literally be taken anywhere at any time and expected to to do what you have to do.

"Yeah, that's what I thought! They said I was needed here, though. Something about a fallback or something." She'd known this chick for maybe two hours and was already spouting out lies. Way to go, Hakan. It was for the mission, though, and the mission came first.

"Yeah, but you know what was gonna happen! The guy meets a girl, saves the girl, gets with the girl and beats the bad guy. Or, the girl meets the guy, saves the guy’s ass and then takes out the villain. It’s all the same bullshit! What action movies have you seen that isn’t predictable like that?"

"Avengers. And you can't make that argument because from what I've seen, romcoms are just as if not more predictable. Girl meets guy, they fall for each other, something complicates their relationship, they get back together in the end."

"Okay, Hakan. What’s the first duty I have to preform?"

"Uh, I dunno. I don't give orders around here. We could go hang out in the base or something I guess? There's not much to do around here."

Katsuwan shrugged nonchalantly. “I come from an elite military force that had a hellish run before I was shipped off to Valhalla, then here.”

She didn't really know how to respond to that. "Oh. That sucks. I'm gonna guess that this is probably better than whatever you had before. At least we don't have to really worry about attacks here."
