He packed up his bag, then slung it over his shoulder then promptly exited his class room. There it was, the busy hallway. The usual, though. He followed the flow of the crowd for the most part, some people were rude enough to push to get there way past people, and that was very annoying. All Kirino did was sigh at those people.

When his arm was touched, the boy was about to push the other away, but before he could react he turned around to wonder who the soft spoken voice belonged to. Upon seeing the other’s face, his eyes widened. There’s no way…

“J-Jeanne?” He managed to stutter even though he was utterly shocked! There’s no way? Really? He still couldn’t— He grabbed the other’s arm quickly, then pulled her out of the moving crowd before they could get pushed around even more, “Is that you?! W-why… You’re here? Out of all places- … Jeanne? I…” His arms began to shake, and his eyes shifted to the ground. Without further ado he hugged the blond that he had been missing for months now into a tight embrace.

Her worries near instantly forgotten, the saint looked at the other in a mix of excitement and disbelief. "Ranmaru?" When he pulled her away from the moving crowd it effectively prevented her from voicing any question. Not that she was sure of what to say, so overwhelmed as they both seemed to be. The most the saint could do as the boy rapidly questioned her was nod, albeit with some confusion remaining in her expression. Was this real?

Although confused by the situation and startled by the sudden movement, all traces of doubt about whether this was truly happening vanished from Jeanne's mind as the defender embraced her. The warmth from the other's body assured her that this was not her mind playing a cruel trick on her. The rosy tint on her cheeks deepened at the close contact, yet she too held onto him tightly with a content hum (almost like a delighted chuckle). "I'm really happy to see you again." Really, what else could she say?

Having said that, however, the conductor has never really been one to immerse himself in his surroundings anyway: he hadn’t any need to do so back in Thüringen, after all, and even prior to his month’s hibernation had he been largely apathetic (particularly) in regard to the population of the academy. He kept to himself, and has been doing so for a good number of years by now ─ why break tradition? His lack of observation here is, perhaps, borderline shameful, evident as the increase in population is, but - regardless - the fact remains that he barely pays these newcomers any mind.

Still, even if he did happen to take note of this much, more possible than not would he have not reacted in any way all the same: from what (little) he can remember about the months prior to his generous nap, people seemed to come and go frequently. Whatever.

Thus, the present. He passes a few others in the corridor, and although he doesn’t fail to notice their presence altogether, that there seems to be a more— a more (albeit still marginally so) bustling atmosphere about the place isn’t something that occurs to him; he keeps to himself, largely oblivious to those others ─ and, much as she, too, is one of these ‘others’, by extension Jeanne. This in mind, it shouldn’t come as any great surprise that her…enthusiastic approach jolts him out of his default distant state of mind: he feels a twinge of annoyance in this moment, true, but credit’s certainly due to somebody capable of prompting a chill to run down his spine.

It’s a minor affair, though ─ just a small startle. Recovery takes all of a second, so he turns to face her soon enough. That mild irritation of his has already disappeared, but one probably wouldn’t be able to infer this from his naturally piercing gaze and colourless voice; therefore, he doesn’t mean to intimidate the girl when he speaks up, despite what his entire manner might imply.

But on to the current matter at hand... After a brief moment of hesitation, the saint settled her gaze on the older man, a somewhat nervous expression adorning her visage. As God would have it, she seemed to have reached out towards a bit of an intimidating adult, if his stern demeanor counted for anything.

Silly as it was to feel at a near complete loss facing a single individual after all the things she had experienced before, the teacher's intense gaze and ever-so-neutral tone made her feel a little ashamed, if only because she was certain her presence was a nuisance. 

His response had, perhaps, left her speechless so to speak. It wasn't exactly what she was expecting or wishing for, but it most definitely could be worse. "I... I'm terribly sorry to disturb you, but..." If she was already this far, it would be pointless not to voice her concern, right? If she had already bothered someone in search for an answer, the least she could do was make her intromission worth the time.
