Hello from Adepticon! Holy cow these are hard to wear. 😂 think we will be installing fans in the helmets and looking at venting the jackets. Gotta consider installing one of those freezible camelbacks or something.

Coming into the final hours of prep before con(I work Monday/Tuesday and we fly early Wednesday 😭), and it’s almost all done. Just need to dremel out the stud holes a little more, and paint up these scopes for the hotshots.

My brother is disgustingly talented with CAD- he modeled us some backpacks and even sliced it up so it would fit on my printer, little keyholes and all. Dear husband has been diligently sanding away at the parts to get them up to snuff for painting, so they’ve been given a quick filler primer layer to see where they’re at. Also have a sneak peak at the plasma gun. So excited to see what it looks like all lit up.

Almost done! Have a test fit with what is completed- some minor heat shaping to get things to sit a little better, but we’re so close. 🥰

Belts mostly done, and in the process of printing eleventy billion bits to build our backpacks 😂

Working on the details for our cosplay- I’ll be running some of the medic paraphernalia so gotta be labeled appropriately. Also have a lizard who joined me for some spray painting.

Working through the plastidip, base paint and camo print. Hoping to get through that and attachments this weekend.

Toddling on thru this armor build; sealing with plastidip before we move to prime and paint. A few pieces still need work before they can be primed but we will get there. 🫠

It’s almost put together! I even found the perfect gear to glue to a button to make a closure at the throat. But then I put the robe in the washing machine to defuzz it(and test for survivability- I know my brother will just throw it in the wash without a second thought)- and the edges frayed like crazy😭 so we shall defrizz and maybe take some careful puffpaint around the edges. Or machine it again. We shall see.

All of the bought pieces came in, and as expected the jacket was very big on me. So a little tailoring fixed that and the armor sleeves fit over it great! Trying to decide if I’m going to attach them to the jacket or have them attach to the shoulder strap for the chest plate.

More armor patterning, cutting and shaping. Starting to look recognizably imperial guard! Maybe there’s hope I won’t be crunching the week before 😂
