Our little shoutout in Elle Magazine- May 2014 Issue! We catered a lovely Farm-to-Table Indian Meal for clothing designers Ace & Jig at Beautiful Dreamers in Williamsburg. From the Pumpkin Seed Brittle atop the Salad to the Purple Cauliflower in the Goan Coconut Milk Curry, this was definitely one of our favorite menus ever.

Champagne and petit fours set the stage for this upscale party in Soho. A lovely Summer evening indeed! 

The rain and clouds cleared up just in the knick of time for Burton's Annual Apres In May Party at Milk Studios. From the red, white, and blue jell-o shots to the Fry & Tater Tot Bar to the DIY Pretzel Bar and boozy ice cream cones (courtesy of Tipsy Scoop) this was a party to remember. DJ Jasmine Solano killed it on the 1s and 2s, sending the crowd from a beautiful sunset into a late-night dance party. . .

We were preparing for this wedding when there was still no electricity in lower Manhattan; our home base and the home base of all our major food vendors. It was a tough week but, fortunately, nothing was compromised.  Not the cheeses we love. Not the make-your-own-taco bar.  

Burton Snowboards wanted to do a party conjuring apres ski in May welcoming summer and their new Winter line.  The party was huge and fun. Five Spice created an "Apres-B-Q" with grass-fed beef, Vermont cheddar and bacon, beefsteak tomatoes and everything else you could want in a Burger (including no meat and turkey options).  This was accompanied by mac and cheese bites, swedish meatballs and all the stuff you crave after a long day of snowboarding.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed III, 'Art of the Assassin' Premier at The Hole Gallery- September 2012 For the premier of the new Assassin’s Creed video game we were asked to make American Revolution themed foods.  It was really fun and interesting doing the historical research which resulted in a menu of potato croquettes, Swedish meatballs, and two kinds of tea sandwiches--all of which went too fast for us to snap a photo. We paired this with whiskey and made a few whiskey-based cocktails.  Over 500 people attended this event, which started as an art opening and turned into a live hip hop show, featuring Prodigy from Mobb Deep and Crooked Eye from Slaughterhouse.

We love the people at Exposure and their super-creative work.  So we were honored to cater their 2012 holiday party at Openhouse.  We made deviled eggs and sliders and other foods people could eat while they danced.  

We always love the opportunity to make it spicy.  The Insight Meditation Center gave us this opportunity for their benefit dinner featuring some of the biggest names in meditation.  The vibe was calm and lovely and the menu included hibiscus ginger tea, Goan coconut curry with butternut squash and tempeh, beet and mint raita, wild Himalayan rice, and lots of Indian pickles.

Five Spice loves carrots. Especially farmers market carrots.  The colors make them more fun to eat and we appreciate the added eyesight benefits.  We put them in as many menus as we can.  Roasted with pomegranate molasses, honey, cumin, coriander and ground Kashmiri chilis is the fate of these guys.
