Fandom culture veering into this incessant need to have every little delusion and fantasy confirmed by canon is really what's made "shipping culture" so insufferable. The whole point of shipping is you can literally do whatever you want and explore the dynamics outside of canon. That's the point! You don't need the source material to breastfeed you anything confirming your theories and headcanons. You just need an imagination and an ability to enjoy shit without becoming an insufferable, mushbrained pissbaby when canon doesn't tell you all your delusions are real.
