one thing i love about wei yingluo is that not only does she have to keep improvising but she has to keep innovating too because she can't get away with reusing stuff she's already done. her initial go-to is to play dumb when she offends somebody but that only works like twice before everyone can tell she's a total snake, so she has to try other shit, such as: stalling, baiting a trap and lying in wait, making it look like a dog ate her homework, It Came To Me In A Dream, being her own defense lawyer, being other people's defense lawyer, slinking away from the police lineup when no one is looking, faking a pregnancy, faking clumsiness, pretending to faint, faking an illness (by contracting another illness), faking a crime (to make her actual infraction seem not that bad), arson, regular stabbing, consensual stabbing, feminine wiles, forensics, magic tricks, getting a doctor's note that says "the emperor needs wei yingluo to piss him off, for his health", strategically making use of the traditions passed down by the ancestors, keeping meticulous records of how her handwriting changes over time, etc., etc. it should be getting increasingly harder to wiggle out of these scrapes given the dwindling pool of methods available but she invents them as quickly as she uses them so she'll probably be fine. even if this show is 70 episodes.
