My group and I planned out everything we wanted to film however a few days before we needed to submit our movie we came to the realization that we didn’t have enough time to film all we wanted and the process of it all would take too long. In the end we changed our idea completely from it being a documentary to a thriller type movie having to do with a cray girl who could see a guy following her but no one else could. We made this story up as we went along and it turned out pretty good.

We’ve found some people willing to participate as actors and decided on locations for filming. Filming will begin shortly.

These are photos taken at the Lumiere festival 2018, which features lights in all shapes, colors and forms. I was unable to attend however, I’ll make an effort next time to go. 

 This is the outcome of my very short stop motion animation I created. It was simple to shoot and swift to create. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to use a stop motion software to make this and had to use a gif creator instead, nevertheless, it still worked.

It has the sequence of events and movements my inanimate object will do to create a stop motion animation. Planning all of this out instead of jumping straight into it helped tremendously with my outcome. I was able to foresee any complications that could have arose during the process. Drawing out a step by step of the movements was beneficial as when I then went to take the photos, it was a fast and swift process as I knew exactly what I planned to happen. My experience of the stop motion animation was fairly simple because I made something short, but I know if I wanted to make a movie on a grand scale such as Coraline, then it would take much longer and require a lot more planning. On this storyboard I only made notes about the lighting, angles and movements.

Operating this camera was fairly easy. I ensured the the tripod was securely positioned and the sound was muted. Looking through the viewfinder eyepiece I was able to position my inanimate object roughly in the centre to achieve the correct shot I wanted. Turning the main command dial would have zoomed the focus lens in and out to obtain a good distance. There was a photoshoot light to the right side of the table so I didn’t need to press the flash exposure compensation button to turn on the flash. After pressing the shutter release button, since the camera was focusing easily on my scarab multi-tool, it took the photo straight away with no complications and I came out with a great set of quality photos. 

I believe using the DSLR camera to create my stop motion animation is a great choice as a lot of photos can be taken and it saves digitally on the storage of the camera and can be sent directly online rather than a SLR camera as the photos are saved on film and would have to be converted
