Also some snowflake ornaments I made while visiting my parents for Christmas! Definitely could have used starching and blocking, but I am still very proud of how they turned out. I also learned a few stitches that are new to me - of course in thread weight, because that is apparently just how I do things.
Made a couple of tote bags as Christmas presents for my mom and sister! Definitely only finished the blue-and-white bag on Christmas Eve, but I managed in time to deposit them under the tree!
Picked up knitting again, so I found a pattern that only required knit, purl, increases and decreases. Made two of them, started to sew them together, got cranky when it became clear it would almost certainly end up as a sock but the end result probably would not fit on my foot.
Also the instructions for resizing were in a Youtube video in Russian, so... screw that. Guess I’m learning to knit in the round and turn a heel soon.
The yarn’s amazing, though. So intensely colored and light and soft, I want to make so many things with it.
Work in progress ocean waves blanket. I keep picking this up and putting it back down for months at a time, but I think I’m nearly finished with it? I think it’s the lack of variation in the pattern that makes me keep getting bored with it - a lesson for future pattern selection the next time I try a blanket.
...those are ink stains on part of the blanket. I had it in my school bag for a while and a pen leaked. At least it’s blue-on-blue.

My first wing shawl. It’s in the long process of being sewn together (I have yet to find a comfortable place and position in which to do this), but this is the first panel of a three-panel shawl. It is roughly six feet across from wingtip to wingtip. I had to stand on my bed with the shawl spread out on it to take this photo, and I still couldn’t get the edges in the frame. It’s also quite heavy, so I’m trying a second version with a slightly lighter yarn than the pattern calls for; photos of that version to come eventually.
A little capelet I started because I needed a project to take with me to class so I wouldn’t contaminate my other projects. It is VERY warm, and the pattern is very easy to memorize so very good for a portable project.
Didn’t try for a buttonhole on this one because the yarn was a little difficult to work with given the fluff. There will be another pass at this pattern.
Tiny cthuloid! First attempt at crocheting in the round, first attempt at anything three-dimensional, first time placing beads. The tentacles were especially fun. Also the yarn I made her with smells like aloe.
I promise there are arms there under all the tentacles.
Needed somewhere to put my plushies in my office. This came out smaller than I’d hoped - next time I’ll have to use a larger hook or crochet much looser. And I will be making it again, because I have so many more plushies I need to store.
Struggled to figure out how to position the hooks to hold it up, but for future reference: those middle loops are not for show. You should use them to support the hammock too. It helps.
Brace yourself, I’m retroactively posting a lot of my projects all at once.
This is the very first project I worked on, during the 2017 move, as a means to distract myself from anxiety. Worked out pretty well for that purpose, and the results are pretty. The pattern was a lot of fun - I’d love another go at it or something similar.
