If their adoration for each other and desperation to keep close was pathetic, then Daisy was happy to be pathetic. The moment that they’re close, it felt as though they belonged in this position together. She would fight a million armies and a thousand enemies if it meant being with her like this, no matter what she had to endure against her body to get there. She understood now what Fitzsimmons meant when they said they felt like the universe was always trying to tear them apart – being snuggled up next to Aubrey felt as though they were defying every single force that had tried to break them up over the years. Always coming back to their spot with each other, not wanting to live the rest of their lives alone. As the other speaks, she leans a little bit closer, melting into the warm kiss that she had gotten so familiar with. Allowing herself to be redirected, she’s more than happy to spend some time alone with her. She loves her team and her family but she’s also weak, don’t blame her for that. “Nah, they can be space captain for a while. I think we’re gonna be still for a little bit honestly. Maybe a few days at least, we deserve the break, and this place is beautiful sight-wise.” She smirks, waiting until they’re away from the others in a little hallway before she leans herself against the wall and pulls Aubrey in close. “Oh yeah? Are you gonna show me?”
“YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL SIGHT-WISE.” she chimes and it’s corny and silly, maybe, but she likes to think they’ve at least earned a smidge of this merriment in the face of universes that have pried them asunder. it’s times like these where aubrey deems herself selfish for when she’s all battered down or even solely lounging about, fresh out of a gruelling task, she looks at daisy and she wants everything else that confines them to crumble ; the missions, the deaths, the blood that continues to suffocate one or the other and trade them for a life where she can wake up next to her without bearing the worries of loss. of possibly watching her disappear again. that ain’t easy though, she knows -- because daisy johnson is a selfless hero who carries the burden of the world and aubrey just wants her to fucking come home safe sometimes, and sometimes, it doesn’t work. so she takes these seconds in stride and she lets her rest in her cradle for as long as possible, cursing whenever it’s time for them to be separated. no one fucking knows what could happen next, and there’s that sting in her chest, reticent, whenever she watches her ragged back. “i think we deserve a long break t’be honest. think mack will let us have a vacation one day? just, y’know, the two of us.” she blinks when when daisy pulls her close, laughing after and catching her hips. “y’tryin’ to make me play for you, or strip?” she places another kiss on her round nose, murmuring. “i hate how distractin’ you are.” and how whipped she is, honestly, but let’s not say that outloud. she swipes open the door into her bunk, and she waltzes them in, fully pulling her into a embrace. “this is better, kora was givin’ us the stink eye.” she snickers. “should i get the guitar now, or would you like to do somethin’ else first? like, i don’t know, play uno or some shit.” she’s teasing her, eyes sprinkled with mirth.
