When Seonghwa finally allowed them to take a break Joohyeon collapsed on the couch in the back of the practice room sure that he was never going to move an inch again. Sam settled near him and started chatting about something â Joohyeon was admittedly not paying a lot of attention. How could Sam even talk after Seonghwa just drilled them on three of their hardest routines?
His phone went off in the middle of Samâs explanation about what was going on in the dorms. Joohyeon reached under the couch and pulled out his bag so he could grab his phone from one of the inner pockets.
âWhoâs more important than my story?â Sam asked curiously when Joohyeon was reading the texts from Kurt.
Joohyeon looked up then feeling a little guilty. âSâjust Kurt.â He said. âI thought you were done with your story.â
Sam just grinned knowingly and reached over to ruffle Joohyeonâs hair. âItâs fine.â He said, leaning over to read the texts himself. âHave fun on your date.â
Joohyeon let out a loud groan feeling his face heat up. Of course it wasnât a date, friends could go out to dinner together. Sam didnât know what he was talking about. âItâs not a date.â He grumbled kicking at Samâs legs as the elder passed by (and missing miserably). He turned his attention back to his phone so he could type a response.
[text: kurtree] yup (ďźžâ˝ďźž) [text: kurtree] just tell me where and when
Kwangchul grinned at his phone as he shrugged his guitar case over a shoulder and entered the bandâs van.
[ text: little kiwi ] uhhh, seven-ish? [ text: little kiwi ] thereâs this new place located near the kbs building called atrio [ text: little kiwi ] itâs italian [ text: little kiwi ] place recently changed owners so maknaeâs friend owns it now or something [ text: little kiwi ] are you home?
âWhatâs got you looking so chipper?â Jihoon raised an eyebrow at the younger before gesturing at the otherâs phone. âGot a secret lover?â Only the leader and Kwangchul were left in the van, as the other two members of Figment of the Radio had gotten dropped off back at the dorms. Jihoon had an individual schedule, and Kwangchul was waiting to get dropped off back at the Roommate house.
âWhy does it have to be a lover? It could be a friend. In fact, thatâs who Iâm texting. A friend.â
âAll right, all right. Whatever you say, Kurt.â
He furrowed his brows at the leaderâs noncommittal response until the van stopped, signalling it was time for the elder to leave the van.
âI'm just saying itâs been a while since youâve looked that happy texting someone other than us. You know, since...â
âHwaiting with your schedule, hyung.â An uncomfortable feeling settled in his stomach as the other male left with a shrug of his shoulders. Kwangchul didnât need Jihoon to remind him of a past that was better left buried -- a past that hurt surprisingly less and less with each passing day in the Roommate house, which was surprising considering who lived within it (then again, they had decided and actually become friends again, hadnât they).
