🪵 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐛𝐮𝐫 - (stav-bur) 🪵

Translated to 'storehouse', stabburs were mostly built in the northern areas, spanning from Scandinavia to Alaska to other mountainous regions. These old wooden structures were designed to store meat, cheese, grains and much more. An outdoor pantry, if you will.

They were constructed on top of stilts, or boulders even, to keep unwanted rodents and other little food snatchers at bay.
