- youngest of seven brothers, with about a 35 year age difference between him and his oldest brother (viera lifespan is about 240 years iirc). hiraeth is the last child his mother will ever have due to how difficult the pregnancy and birth was it left her unable to have anymore. which left her...... disappointed, to put it lightly, when hiraeth turned out to be a boy since she really wanted a daughter. so their relationship was left pretty much in ruins when his uncle took him as his ward. hiraeth has only met father twice in his whole life; he does not have much of an opinion on the man.

- completed the rite to become a wood-warder and then left for limsa lominsa the next day. a lifetime of solitude would've been a miserable existence for him since he prefers to be around people. he took the name blackstone from the obsidian knife his uncle gave him as a farewell gift.

- it's honestly a lil scary how good hiraeth is at reading people tbh. which lends itself well to...

- hiraeth is VERY aware of how people perceive him. an attractive viera man who left his jungle behind? one who dresses as he pleases with little care if it's fem or masc? oh clearly he's naive and easy to take advantage of, this poor pretty thing who can't possibly understand how the world outside of the jungle works! and hiraeth uses that to get the upper hand, plays up the naivety and cluelessness people expect out of him against them.

- in general though he is friendly (as long as you don't treat him like in the previous point. however if you apologize, either through words or actions, he's more than willing to let bygones be bygones)

- as the wol, his love life is really fuckin weird lmao. the healthiest(?) relationship he had was with hien, though it was short lived, they ended on good terms and remain friends

- as not the wol, his love life would still probably be kinda weird, but i'm leaving it mostly undefined for any potential rp reasons (i'm more of a writer/character builder than a roleplayer, but who knows lol)

- i think? square enix has said that ffxiv and all of the dlcs take place within the span of a year which is insane to me (it's like when bioware said inquisition happens in under a year which uh. no tf it shouldn't. the travel time alone-- *i am forcibly removed from the stage*) so. base xiv and heavensward, hiraeth is 26. in storm blood he's 27. idk about shadow bringers yet since time flows differently between alternate worlds

- hiraeth is very obviously gender non conforming. he's really not a huge fan of strict gender roles (another reason why he left home). the whole 'women do this, men do that' rigidity leaves a bad taste in his mouth

- the ascians frustrate him to no end. not just because they're trying to cause the apocalypse, but their OBSESSION with the past and their inability to let it go. from his perspective, they're willing to destroy everything for a world they built up in their heads while wearing rose tinted nostalgia safety glasses (emet selch: your world is a mistake! i'll let everyone die to bring back a reality that's been dead a million years!!! hiraeth, smacking him with a sword: GO! TO! GRIEF COUNSELING!!!)

- so far i've got two and a half(?) AUs for hiraeth if he's not the WoL. 1) he's still part of the scions/works with them. 2) casino bunny au. basically got robbed in his sleep on the way to limsa lominsa during a stop over in ul'dah. starts working at the golden saucer as a casino bunny and becomes an information broker on top of that 3) an offshoot of the casino bunny au where hiraeth basically becomes indiana jones in that he starts delving into ruins for artifacts

- he LOVES collecting swords (i literally keep running out of space in my character armory asdfghjkl)
