the largest complaints I have are that it feels EXTREMELY rushed. Like when you're writing a timed essay in class and you rush to just be over with it. Sure, The idea in mind was amazing, but the execution came out HORRIBLY.

Now onto my feelings abt Jax, I have bittersweet feelings abt him bc I do relate to him in many aspect (while i'm not proud of it, I know it's something abt me that's there.) Yes, I know he was highkey a bully and somewhat misogynistic, and I wish that they gave him a episode or a scene of redemption or accountability (I headcanoned him as a narcissist for a bit and kinda still do bc I know there are narcissists who want to change and improve.) But NOOOO, they instead just stamped a trope of "traumatized bully" and didn't even do it right.

Another thing, I feel like if they didnt release it so early, tweaks couldve been made, improvements and extensions could be done, but we got rushed HOGWASH. (i will not lie though, I liked the ending a bit, it was bittersweet.)

My last critique isn't on the show,but to the fandom. Please. for the love of christ, LISTEN TO BLACK PEOPLE IN THE FANDOM AND DO NOT FORCE THEM TO FEEL A CERTAIN WAY !

It comes of as performative and honestly tone deaf, swearing that you respect and support minorities but somehow shame them for feelings negative or neutral abt situations that affect THEM not you, THEM!

I understand Jax is a abusive character but I don't think he fanatises any of the stuff we saw in his head space.

I think they were masks that he uses.

Sure they're are not good and I don't support any of those masks but he hates feminity cuz he hates himself and projects that onto gangle.

He tells us his dad was never proud of him, that his mother made fun of him and we can assume it's because feminity in house was punished and his mother also punished masculinity.

So to appease her he might've told her I'm trans fem and she... well laughed.

It is wrong and he abused Gangle because of his own shit but I wouldn't go as far to say he fanatises about it.

Also it is never clearly shown that he is going thru life as a cis man, he may be gay, he may not have transitioned fully, we don't know and gooseworx left it ambiguous like that.

I am not an overt Jax defender he is and can be a dick but I understand the masking and the self hatred but he is a shitty person who did a bunch of things he shouldn't have.

Gaslighting Ribbit and abandoning her, abandoning Kaufmo, bullying Ragatha and Gangle etc.

But Gooseworx gave us a flawed character.

I think Micheal’s and Ashley’s actions were very distasteful, and while I am glad they’ve addressed it, it’s not my place to forgive them. My only hope is that they continue to speak against this behavior.

As for Goose herself, those posts are certainly fucking awful, and especially the fact she hasn’t properly addressed or renounced them yet. Nevertheless, I wish the fandom was more cordial about this. ESPECIALLY, especially the white side of the fandom. We have no right to speak over Black voices.

I don’t think anyone is in the right in this situation, but that doesn’t mean I think any of them are irredeemable monsters who need to die. Many of them, actually!

I don’t know. This whole situation has been a fucking mess. What I do know is that I will be taking a step back from TADC and the fandom as a whole. At least for now.

This show has brought me and my girlfriend so much joy throughout its run, and I would be lying if I said it didn’t save my life once or twice, but I cannot in good conscience continue supporting this show with this looming over my head.

As such, this blog will be put into an indefinite hiatus. One last fake spoiler was scheduled ahead of time for the day of the YouTube release, but besides that, it will likely be radio-silent on here for the time being.

I’m sorry if this disappoints anybody. I’m disappointed myself, this blog was something I enjoyed doing even if I wasn’t on the dot 100% of the time. But I feel this is for the best.
