“Who’s gonna make sure stuff runs smoothly..? I don’t have a second in command…” Lucas winced and forced himself into a sitting position, shivering as he wrapped the blankets from the bed around himself. “Babe… I can’t afford to stay home…”

“It runs pretty well on it’s own,” Ven leaned against the doorframe unsure of what her next move should be.  “But hell if you need me to I’ll go down there, that is probably a horrid idea and I will do more harm than good.  But it’s an option you can explore.”

"You know where I'd rather you go down. But not right now... Because I'm sick and feel gross." He whimpered and went pale, looking at her for a brief moment before he got up and ran to the bathroom as fast as he could. Lucas fell to his knees and hugged the toilet, vomiting uncontrollably for a few minutes until his stomach was emptied of its contents. "Babe... Maybe you shouldn't be around me right now... I'm really sick... I haven't thrown up in years. I haven't been sick in years..."

“I’ll start. Favorite movie?” He cracked open the bottle and took a sip, grabbing a handful of chips as he watched her. She really was a pretty girl, she was just shy from what he could tell. “Mine is, and don’t laugh, Rent.” Lucas smiled softly and rolled around on the floor, starting to feel the alcohol affect him. “I’m a little tipsy, so I’m sorry if I slur my words or whatever.”

“The Empire Strikes Back,” Ven pulled her legs up to her chest as she watched him.  “Rent is a really good movie through, my dad took me to see it on Broadway for my 16th birthday.  If you haven’t seen it live you should.”  She smiled again and buried her head in her knees.  “You’re forgiven and thank you for not trying to force me to drink.”

"Hey now... I may be a frat boy, but I'm not an asshole. I'm not into the whole "hazing" thing. It's wrong. I don't even know how I ended up in a frat house, honestly. It jus' kinda happened." Lucas smirked up at her and sat up, taking another sip of the alcohol. "Your turn. Make it a good one, too. This is fun."

“I’ll be right back then.” And soon enough, he was, with a bag of chips in one hand, and a bottle of rum in the other. “Alright. Now we can have our own little party. I brought drinks and snacks.” Lucas chuckled and set them down on the bed, sitting on the floor. “So. Wanna play twenty questions?”

“Okay,” Ven nodded as she watched him go back down the hall.  She quickly moved over and pushed her laundry into the closet and cleaned up until she heard his knock.  “I can get behind the snacks,” she flashed him the briefest of smiles as she let him into her room.  A little voice in the back of her mind was saying to her that there was more going on here.  “Sure.”  She moved to sit on her bed, unsure of where to offer him a seat.

“Do you mind if I grab a bottle and come back? I won’t force you to drink, but you can if you want.” Lucas grinned slightly, hoping she wouldn’t mind him coming back to her dorm. He had to end up sleeping with her in two weeks, or he had to accept any punishment of his peer’s choice. “I think you’re a cool girl, Ven.”

“Oh, okay.”  She nodded at his words, feeling better if she didn’t have to drink it.  She wasn’t sure she had a very good tolerance, a cup of coffee would keep her going all day.  “I’m not very cool, I’ve been told I’m very boring.”  But if he wanted to spend time with her it wasn’t like she was going to stop him.  There wasn’t a line of guys waiting to talk to her anyways.

“Well, I mean, I can grab some booze and bring it in here? If you want. Maybe we could talk and get to know each other. Steph talks about you a lot. Mostly how you keep to yourself. But I think I’ve seen you interact with the computer sciences class we’re both in.” His eyes moved to the floor and he inhaled slowly, trying to keep himself composed even though he had already had a few drinks. “Besides, I think the party down the hall has gotten a bit crowded…”

“She does?’ Ven couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow as her cheeks turned a bright red.  “I’m just used to being on my own honestly, I’m not the best at making friends.”  She wondered why he was doing this, she wasn’t anything special.  If compared to her roommate Ven was the less desirable one. “I’ve just never drank before, I don’t want to embarrass myself by getting too drunk or something…”

“Um… No. Not looking for her. I know where she is. You’re Ven, right? My name is Lucas… I wanted to know if you wanted to come party down the hall. Lots of booze. Lots of fun. You’re more than welcome.” Lucas flashed her a dazzling smile and stuffed his hands in his pockets, looking her over. “I didn’t bother you, did I?”

Ven blushed as she felt his eyes run over her, she couldn’t help but think about the fact that she was 18 and hadn’t even had her first kiss yet.  She didn’t like letting people close, because they always hurt you in the end.  “I’m fine here, I don’t do parties well.”  She didn’t like being around large groups.  “Nice to meet you, I was just reading a book and trying to stay ahead with my classes.”

"You seemed interesting. I was bored. If you entertain me enough, I may offer you a position. Though it may be a sex position, it'll still be a position." Lucas smirked, sipping his coffee. "Tell me about yourself, miss."

“I dunno…” He sniffled, looking at her before he sneezed all over himself. “Sorry… I feel like shit… I don’t think I can go to work like this. They’d send me home immediately. Especially Franny. That little old woman in my accounting department.” Lucas walked to the bedroom and curled up on the bed, coughing hard and feeling a pop in his side. “I think I just pulled a muscle.”

“Yep,” Ven grimaced as he sneezed.  “You have what I had.”  She was glad she didn’t have to beg him to stay home. It would have been horrid to have to deal with whatever was ailing him and run the company at the same time.  Besides, it would be fine for a few days.  “I’ll make you some tea, hopefully that will make you feel better.”

“Lucas?” Ven called out as she slowly stood up from the couch and walked towards his voice.  “What’s up? Did you get what I had the other week?”

"I dunno..." He sniffled, looking at her before he sneezed all over himself. "Sorry... I feel like shit... I don't think I can go to work like this. They'd send me home immediately. Especially Franny. That little old woman in my accounting department." Lucas walked to the bedroom and curled up on the bed, coughing hard and feeling a pop in his side.
