okay so nobody look at me as i make Another “i had every intention of being here to write but life got SO FAR in the way” post; it’s been a very difficult mental and physical struggle on my end, so the writing time i thought i had just never came between moving/renovations and just pure overstimulation. there is finally a hard date set for moving (this has all been…complicated by family stuff) and it’s after i get back from this music festival. i’ll be on Another hiatus starting tomorrow until mondayish, but still prioritizing moving. it sucks that i have the muse, just 0 time or energy to actually get that muse Out, but. i’m not disappearing, promise - if you’ve been waiting on things from me, dms or threads, i’m so sorry for the wait!! it’s been difficult to engage. but i love you all and i shall SEE YOU ON MONDAYISH!

what makes the most sense to me ( and this is just my perception, take it with a grain or even two grains of salt ) wrt the titans reacting to the elves crafting bodies, is that it came out of the spirit-born overreaching / taking more than what they put back, upending the beyond's interconnectedness. we don't get any kind of lore on how spirits and titans coexisted beforehand, and for the elves' side of things, we have a very unreliable narrator - two, if you count mythal. spirits and elements and what have you operate of their own accord, but they were all pillars of what the beyond used to be. all of them were touched by it. all of them benefitted from it. all of them fed into it. borrowing far too much and affecting another living thing's connection to the world/beyond would be a rightful cause for reaction, whether they realized what they were doing or not. the blame lies therein when they didn't attempt to mend their mistakes, and instead just ripped the titans away from that connection altogether. like what bishop said: the evanuris doubled down, and the titans responded proportionately.

it is still a very firm thought in my head - given the evanuris legends on how they came to be, with mythal springing from the sea - that she used elements of the sea to craft her body and lended the same to solas when he finally decided to join them. there are parts of him that he selected for himself, but mythal's influence is still there. sea shell, scale, salt, sand, etc. and i like to think that solas used animal bone; the source of his jawbone, which he kept as a reminder.
