I don’t guess that this is much of a girly post as it is a general good-living post.  Smile more often.  Period.  Smile, smile often, and often to the exclusion of other expressions.

I used to smile a lot.  In the words of Phoebe (you know if you know), I looked like I had a coat hanger in my mouth.  But life happened.  I got older, was fired from a job, had a change in career, had a child with cancer, went through back problems, covid, a death of one parent, and the pseudo-death of another parent with ALZ and DMT (I can never spell them right).  In spite of that, and not to make light of anyone who has suffered worse, when i have rotten days, I try my best to smile.  It’s not a “grin-and-bear it” solution.  The hurt is still there, the recovery is still on-going.  But a smile gives me a glimpse into a more vibrant life post-disorientation.  And however feign it might be, smiling helps me relate to my girliness.

I know it’s not the sure-fire way of getting in touch with Candie.  I just know that for me, it helps.  Maybe it can for you too.  So, give a smile.  Stand in front of a mirror and smile, greet people with a smile, and meet life with a smile.  It’s okay if you can’t in your moments.  But give it a try.

It’s been raining all morning — that soft, endless drizzle that seems to blur the edges of the day. The sky is heavy, the colors muted. But Candie still slipped into something kind: wide-leg light blue jeans, a cheerful yellow tee, and those cozy Ugg mules that make every step feel like a little hug. 💛☁️

No anklet today. Not out of fear… just a feeling. A quiet moment. A pause. Still, the charm is there — in the softness, in the gentle way I walk through this world.

Rainy days can feel like fog over our truest selves. For those of us still learning how to embrace the sparkly parts inside — the sweet, silly, girly, or dreamy — gloom can weigh a little heavier. Like being told to hide again. Like it’s not time yet.

But… even on the grayest days, you are not neutral. You are vibrant in quiet ways. In soft denim swishes, in secret smiles, in the quiet bravery it takes just to be a little more you. ✨

So if today feels hard, if your reflection seems uncertain, let this be your reminder: You're not behind. You're blooming in your own season. Let the rain fall — you’re still the girly self inside. And she’s always worth waiting for. 💖
