might as well provide some insight here.

this is how licensing works and was ultimately bound to happen. jhonen signed a contract agreeing to it, even if it certainly is weird that the crew found out at the same time the fans did. oni press had taken it upon themselves to consult the crew and have them step in (good on them!), but is by no means a requirement, since the IP does not strictly belong to jhonen, rather viacom.

whether you support the comics or not is up to you, but dont go out of your way to deem them "problematic" or "illegal" all because jhonen wasnt in the mix. this is how it works.

what also has me facepalming is people proceeding to attack the comic artists for even being involved. that's equivalent to attacking a chicken nugget for having chick fil a's CEO.

allow me to put this into perspective. nickelodeon is listening and knows the demand for more ZIM is high. the artists who work on these comics are likely fans of the show, just like us. theyre being granted the opportunity to work on licensed invader ZIM comics. that's pretty fucking neat. the comics may be great, or they may suck. who knows? but dont go out of your way to put down the artists involved. we all need support out here.

i dont ship it, but i have zero beef with it. ive said it before and ill say it again, everyone sees zim's age differently, there's proof of him being a kid and an adult respectively. it's up to the individual at this point. if you ship zadr and see zim and dib as similar ages, theres no issue. its not like they necessarily have a power dynamic. im not one to stress over something like a cartoon ship. i have better things to do.

you dont have to reply to this but, im worried for you. stepping up to the izlaf leader role can be taxing. you are only 17 being asked to take care of 400+ members. i dont want this project to hold you back on opportunities because of the time you have to dedicate to this project. if anything, please take a break from this all. and especially take care of yourself. production doesnt need to start back up straight away, things are happening within the project and it has to be acknowledged. i hope you can do better than the previous members did, sincerely.

thank you for your concern. yeah it is definitely taxing on me to be stepping up as leader, especially at my age, but what helps tremendously is that im not doing it alone.

leadership is shared between me and two of our best high ranks, both are young adults. weve been talking and have been organizing things better, and we also have the help of those on our mod team who have decided to stay. i was chosen for a reason, and i have faith.
