“listen, nothing is just about hookups to me--i’m into everyone. and i care about everyone i meet, seriously, i just... don’t see why people shouldn’t do the things they enjoy.”

‘ i’ve been busy, what can i say ? ’  she almost winces because willow fully realises that busy sounds like a pitiful excuse. ‘ oh, an expert ?  i’ll just have to take your word for it. honestly, i’m lucky that i can navigate between my apartment and where i work. ’

“very lucky. but don’t you worry, we’ll remedy that pretty quick here for you,” fox flashed a grin, “two weeks from now you’ll know amsterdam like the back of your hand.”

“do you really see me as an eleanor, though? there were plenty of them back home – i don’t think another would have been needed.” a small laugh spills from her lips, leaning back against the bench. “someone as gorgeous as me, huh?” the words cause a slight red hue to appear on her otherwise pale cheeks, looking down at her lap for a moment. she hadn’t expected for their conversation to be going so well, especially since they were only strangers not even ten minutes ago. nonetheless, fox was easy to talk to, and anastasia needed that in her life. “we’re both crazy? it’s a good thing that we both ended up on this same bench, huh?”

fox decided that he liked the look of the blush on her cheeks and filed that information away for later use, smile bright, “you’re right. like i said, anastasia fits you much better than eleanor.” he couldn’t help but think that her next words were very true--not that he couldn’t have made good conversation with anyone he was sat next to, but they seemed to have a particularly great connection. “definitely a good thing. anyone else would have thought you were a complete psycho.”

At the end of the piece she looks over at him, practically beaming too. It was second nature for Autumn to go above and beyond when she set her mind to something, so really she owed it to hours of practice for her sounding more than decent right now. ❝ Yeah? It definitely felt and sounded a lot more like one actual thing. ❞ Humble as she may be, she had put in the work in order to not look like a fool in front of him. There was the smallest of squeals bubbling inside her throat when he touched her, but she remained calm– that is until he brought up the point about her musical abilities. The memories of her childhood lessons weren’t one she was very fond of.    ❝ You’ve sure have a good memory. ❞ She nods, chuckling softly as she thinks about what to divulge.  ❝ Take a guess then. What do you think I can play? ❞

at autumn’s challenging tone, fox leaned back, squinted at her, and hummed as thought. she took to the guitar well, but still had some difficulty sometimes, so he felt like she probably had learned another string instrument at some point but likely not something you strummed and picked at the same like ukulele or the sitar. “i’m guessing at least the violin or the cello, and...” he tilted his head, thought for a moment longer, and then settled on an answer, “and the piano, because every parent who wants to teach their kid an instrument teaches them piano. am i close?”

miles nodded excitedly, happy that the other knew at least a little about the film. “he is, yeah. eh, i don’t find that guy all that funny, but he plays mater well.” they shrugged their shoulders, features painted with a smile. “’m sure you will, too. and, if not, we could always …” they shrug again, smirking, their eyes on the television.

“god, you’re cute, you know that?” fox’s smile was all at once amused, adoring, and appreciative as he laid eyes on miles again. aware of the fact that they weren’t necessarily fond of the attention, he instead just chuckled and let his smile slip into a smirk, “i definitely wouldn’t be opposed to that.”

‘ you know, i’ve lived here almost a year and i’ve never even seen half of what this place has to offer. i’ve got two weeks off work coming up and i’ve decided to go full on tourist, i want to see everything. any recommendations ?  better yet !  you should come with me. ’

"you’ve been here almost a year and you haven’t played tourist yet? you out of your mind?” fox laughed, long and bright, “i’ll happily join you. two months in this city has made me a bit of an expert, you know.”

alec ran his hands through his dark hair, his blue eyes hidden by his eyelids. when had he gotten to the bar? had he actually used his day off to go to the bar instead of editing footage and photographs? the answer was simple: of course. he opened his eyes, his blue hues landing on his depleting glass of scotch in front of him. he turned to the body beside him, suddenly in the mood for conversation. “daydrink often?” 

“it’s a pastime,” fox grinned into his manhattan, shrugging one shoulder as the whiskey and vermouth warmed a trail down his throat. it surprised him sometimes how the alcohol still burned, even after over fifteen years of drinking it pretty religiously... of course, the bigger surprise, now that he thought of it, was that he was still alive and healthy after over fifteen years of drinking pretty religiously. 

he shook the thoughts from his head, however, and glanced at the man beside him as he set his glass down. “what abou--oh, shit, alec?!” the voice had been vaguely familiar, but fox hadn’t even thought that it might be anyone he knew, let alone alec richards, “what the hell are you doing in amsterdam, man?”

“that would be anastasia, miles, and autumn? huh. well, i would fuck miles, for sure. and, i mean, i feel bad, but i would marry anastasia. i feel like we have more in common than autumn and i do. so. sorry autumn!”

“both.”

“top five? that’s tough... okay, in no particular order... miles, alec, rhys, anastasia, and avery. but, you know, i’m really not much of a discriminator.”
