“I’m not. I’m really not. But I’m trying.” He didn’t think himself as a good suitor for Apollo. Apollo deserved so much better than him. But he was also hoping to be good enough for Apollo, some day. He knew his feelings growing, in a genuine way. Not just friendship and sexual attraction, but romantic one as well. And it was what mattered, perhaps. TRYING. He kissed Apollo’s head one last time. “I love you.” He could say it today. It had took time but he felt it at this very moment.

“I get what you’re saying. I’m proud of you, to land this role and become popular, reach success doing what you love. That’s something people should thrive for. Except for persecutors.” Adam left Apollo’s hair to rub his back in a soothing, almost teasing way. Then he kissed Apollo’s hair. “It’s you who wanted to cuddle. I’m happy to oblige and distract you.”

Adam hugged his boyfriend back, hand on Apollo’s head, moving to ruffle his hair. He could take a lot of time to get ready like he could take little time, depending on his mood and the event. Although, he could use a little more preparation for something as important as their first offical big night out together. “I’ll help you out. I’ve been groomed for the press my entire life.” Adam hummed at the lips on his face. “I believe that’s a good idea. I don’t want to ruin it because my boyfriend gets too excited. And me too on the process.”

Adam squeezed Apollo’s hand, feeling good their fingers together like that. Like they were one. It really eased the french american, relaxing to the situation. “I’m used to media coverage. I was on the cover of magazines since my mother was pregnant. I’ve just tried to distance myself from them. And I know what they’ll say about me, I don’t want to put you in an uneasy position. I want to go. I’ll go. Let me get my Armani tux.”

Now Adam was feeling bad because he made it about him and it was about Apollo. Everything was always about him and he hated that. And because he expected the world to go on a bad direction when he should just be proud of Apollo. “I really really want to go, be there for you, but I dont want you to feel bad because of what people might say about me. But I really want to be at your side and support you for your role. So I’ll come.”

This was why he shouldn’t have a boyfriend that was somewhat high profile. People would notice him, them and there would be talk. And Adam more or less wanted that to happen. Not at all with Apollo, that was for sure. Adam sighed at the question. “Journalists crowding us and asking questions about my personal life and calling you Adam Rosier’s New Boytoy and wondering how long we’ll last and ask you how you managed to get me in your bed. And maybe something homophobic like Not only does he give up on his father’s company but he turned gay. And criticize my liberal degree in french litterature as the reason i’m now gay even if I’m pan. that’s what I think will happen.”

Adam didn’t want to go, to raise attention on him, even stealing it from Apollo. But there was so much he could do against those cute puppy eyes. “Sure, I’ll come. But you might not like what happens,” he warned his boyfriend.
