Raven: I'm really glad it's summer I don't have to worry about school when Skylar is sick.

“i don’t get how anyone could actually like them. they have to just be torturing you. i dunno, maybe not. i just feel like there has to be for such a freak storm if that makes sense.”

"i dunno either. i just hate scary things in general 'cause they scare me. yeah but i don't like it. maybe. it's just weather, we can't control it can we?"

“does that mean they actually like to watch horror movies? i guess a phone is as good a distraction as you can get. i wonder if they’ll figure out why it happened. it feels kind of weird to just not know.”

"i think so. i think they like them, or they just like to torture me. they usually don't actually watch it though. would there actually be a reason? it just seems like something that would happen."

“who forces you to watch ‘em? that’s good, outside seemed pretty dangerous. yeah, hopefully it doesn’t happen again anytime soon.”

“my friends sometimes, but i mostly just go on my phone. i don't think it will. the news said it was some freak thing but i haven't heard anything about another one."

“mhm. every time i watch one i can’t sleep for days after. mhm, i hated it. did you stay inside?”

"me either. that's why i don't watch 'em ever unless i'm forced to. yeah. it was really weird honestly, kind of out of nowhere."

“that’s a good point. i guess some people just get sick of ‘em easier than others.” she shrugs. “yeah, when you put it that way it’s even more horrifying. i dunno. it wasn’t really that great. i, uh, don’t think there’s that much to talk about.”

"maybe." she lets the topic drop, tilting her head curiously at the other girl. "yeah. i hate horror movies for that reason, they scare me so bad afterwards. did it storm up there? it did here, and it was super freaky."

“’cause it’s weird to think about how people who like to be around other people all the time eventually also get sick of it. that makes sense, the quiet can be kinda scary.” she nodded. “yeah, i’m sure. i don’t mind.”

“it’s not that weird. it's basically human nature, i think. everyone gets sick of people sometimes." fallon nods. "yeah. in a big house it's like a horror movie. okay. are you sure you don't wanna talk about your trip?"

“yeah, it’s kind of confusing to think about. i’m guessing you’re one of those people that like to have people around most of the time?” she asked. “no, it’s alright. you can stay if you want.”

"how is it confusing? i guess so, yeah, silence kinda just freaks me out so i'd rather not be sitting in the quiet." fallon just shrugged her shoulders. "are you sure? i don't have to if you don't want me to."

“i guess not.” she shrugged. “i guess so, but i don’t think everyone thinks that way. a little bit, yeah. and i just wanted to be alone for a little, and it’s kind of nice out so i grabbed a book and came out here.”

“yeah, most people don’t. but they're always around people too so they might get annoyed after a while. it's like, basic human stuff." the brunette nods. "did you want me to leave? so you could be alone."

“okay, good.” she said, giving the other girl a small smile. “always. i told one of the doctors i’d help keep the little ones entertained, but i needed a break and figured this was a pretty good spot for that.”

“but that isn’t so bad, is it?” she raised her eyebrows before letting out a small chuckle. “it’s nice to have people around, even if you don't want 'em to be there. why? they all riled up 'cause it's summer?"

“‘m sorry if i’m being rude. i don’t mean to be.” she sighed, “oh, yeah. i get that. this is a pretty good place to come if you don’t wanna be alone. i’m not even sure it’s possible to be alone while you’re here.”

“it’s not rude.” fallon understood not wanting to talk about things, but sometimes her own curiosity pushed people too far. "uhuh. it's so fun and there's always someone around. why aren't you inside?"

“just a few towns over. nowhere exciting, really.” she shrugged, hoping fallon would get the hint that she wasn’t in the mood to talk. “oh. yeah, it’s always a little crazy here. your house too quiet?”

“oh. okay." she leaves it at that, noticing the lack of enthusiasm from the other about the subject. "yeah. i think everyone is at work or something, so it's just kinda freaks me out to be alone there."

“oh, uh, it was fine i guess. just your average trip.” she shrugged, not really looking to go into details. “if you’re looking for river, i have no idea where he is.”

“where’d you go?” she knew she shouldn’t pry, but being fallon, she was curious. something seemed to be bothering elina. "i was just coming to hang out actually. it's a lot more busy here." 

“Me too. Alright sounds like a plan. What day did we want to go?”

“What about Monday? Does that work for you?”

“I think it will. I was thinking we could head to the beach around 8 or so?”

“I hope it will for your sake. That works for me, just gotta set an alarm.”

“I’m looking forward to it then and you know the beach.”

“Me too, it’s going to be super fun. Hopefully it’ll take your mind off school for a bit.”
