adam stanheight was going through a depressive episode around his sixteenth birthday and scott tibbs climbed through his window literally just to fuck with him (this is the closest they will ever feel to another person. are they aliens? are they the only people who were ever really human in the first place?).

he poked him and shook him and punched him until he woke up, called him an asshole, and rose from his bed.

scott reminisces on this in his final moments, as the axe swings towards his chest. he wonders if adam thought about him as he died. he wonders if adam is dead.

he hopes so, some sick, extra-twisted corner of his rotten mind hopes. he yearns for it to be him who is poked this time. he yearns to hear the too-fond, too gruff, 'asshole'. he hopes that heaven is adam's bedroom when they were sixteen and not yet evil.
