Reimu couldn’t imagine how much of a pain it would be to monitor repairs over the mansion. Honestly, youkai had patience for a lot more than necessary. Well, most youkai.

“Actually, outside of a couple moments of intervention, it was me and a few others that ended up fixing the recent incidents. I mean, I could argue her being lazy, but really her small input ended up mattering a lot. Though I’d say Eirin helped more overall.”

“Oh? So that’s how it went? I guess I really have been out of the loop. Maybe I should pick up that tengu’s paper? If you ignore the fluff, there is some substance to it.” If anything, she found her exaggerated spins to be entertaining.

She wasn’t believing you…and that was stressing you out a little more now. In part it was bad that she thought that everything was alright, because you were aware she wasn’t your Remilia, and that was making your eyes to water as you clenched your jaw and swallowed while hesitantly moving your hands around without really knowing what to do, or say; wings twitching nervously before you finally looked at her.

“I…I guess so…” Looking away once more, you bit one of your fingers in a nervous action and then, you finally turned aorund to get closer, and wrap your arms around her…maybe a bit too tight.

It was…bad, that if she didn’t see the truth, you were going to cling to her…and probably not be able to let her go…

…if this continued like this, you wouldn’t let her leave in order for her to substitute your deceased sister…

“Please…let do something together, sister…I’ve missed you too much…”

Remilia was feeling her own sense of uneasiness. Watching her sister fidget nervously made her uneasy. Quickly recalling the encounter, she couldn’t think of anything she said that could have upset her. It wouldn’t be until she decided to grab her arm that she could relax.

“Ah! I appreciate the enthusiasm. But don’t you think you mind be holding on a little too tightly?” It wasn’t that she was in jeopardy of getting injured like this. But it was difficult to move like this.

Maybe you weren’t being too clear simply because that’s how you were, or maybe the anxiety of the moment was making it difficult for you to express yourself better.

It didn’t matter what it was, but even if you knew she wasn’t your Remi, her words were just making it more difficult for you.

“I think I’m feeling okay…this is the first time you come here in particular…I’m sure you’re still just confused…” You took a small breath to then sigh softly; one of your hands, now a little trembly, moved up to your forehead so you could rub it gently, looking away from her. “You’re dead…you’re not my Remilia…I’m sorry…I’m sure all of this sounds really weird…it was an accident, I never wanted to hurt her…” There was hesitance about getting closer to her or wanting to cling to ‘your sister’ that was now in front of you.

It’s like if your mind was desperate enough to fill that void your real sister left years ago.

“I promise I’m not going to hurt you…I got better, I promise!…I’ve been feeling…so empty since ‘you’ left me…”

As quick as she was to dismiss the story as something like a bad dream, she felt that she wouldn’t be able to say something like that without conveying the wrong message. Especially with how much it seems to be affecting her. Only she could know how intense such an illusion was.

It was unintentional and you were simply kinda bad with communicating your thoughts at the moment…Remilia had to be a little patient this time around.

“Got lost?” What could she possibly mean by this? As far as she was aware, this was her own mansion. The building was seared into her memory. With all her years in Genoskyo, it was beginning to get difficult to get lost here too. It was apparent that she meant something else by that. What that was still hasn’t clicked yet.

You haven’t been sneaking or anything like that. In fact, the room you left was simply your room now, so, when a certain voice tried to catch your attention and before you could turn around, you stopped in place and tilted your head, confused.

“What could I be hiding?…it’s just my room…” Turning around while saying that, you couldn’t help but freeze for a second when seeing Remilia…or well, a Remilia. Yours was dead and she did so in your own hands, so it could just be…someone else.

“Remi?…do I know you?…how did you even get here?…”

“Wasn’t your room down-” Interrupting herself partway through the moment she was able to see her expression. Something wasn’t right. That much was clear just by reading her face and listening to her tone. The playfulness in Remilia’s voice has vanished altogether. Replaced with one of concern.

Oh, that’s right, nobody from the mansion has been out for the last… wow, since the amanojaku. Whether it was fate or luck, she didn’t know, but they had avoided a good couple risks in not participating. That, and it was for the best they avoided the one she mentioned, or whatever treasury they had would be compromised.

“Happened a bit after we headed up to the moon again, which is another story entirely, if you wanna hear it,” she offered, before continuing. “Essentially, two goddesses were trying to get money for the Prismriver concerts that were going down back then. Ended up possessing people, and I guess the possessings shoved their dream-world selves out and add to the confusion. Took help from both Yukari and the dreamworld manager to get things fixed up.”

A pause, then a rub to the back of her head, looking off to the side. “R-right, you probably don’t know about her, either~… It’s been really busy recently, with the moon needing saving and the seasons going crazy, eheh~…“

While she was aware of the incident regarding the moon as well as the occult orb incident, this one was news to her. The idea of duplicates showing up was bad enough. Two Yukari’s was too much for anyone to handle, her sympathies went out to the dreamworld manager.

“Yeah... sounds like it was would have been a pain to deal with. At least you all kept it away from my mansion. Repairs are such a pain to get done.” It was like fairies didn’t knew how to repair European-styled buildings or something.

While it wasn’t uncommon to see her sister walking the halls by her room. It was strange to see her leaving one of the rooms here. Especially one that was next to her’s.

A soft smirk as she knew very well that her threat was empty. Still, it would be best to stay on her good side. Manners, and all that. “No, you’re as welcome a guest as any. As for the rest of that, well…“ A lean in, looking her over, trying to keep in mind the light differences in mannerisms, aura, speech patterns, etc.

“…Let’s just say that it’s a bit reminiscent to the dream duplicates incident from recently. Just that there’s more, and they’re apparently real.“ A look to the dark sky, stretching her legs with a few wiggles of each. “Anyhow, I take it the night is treating you well?“

Dream duplicate incident? She wasn’t liking the sounds of the, especially the shrine maidens lack of urgency to fully resolve whatever it was. Perhaps she really was wasting too much time in her mansion if Gensokyo has gotten to this state.

“There is no shame is being second to DIO. Everyone is with only two exceptions. But they aren’t here at the moment. Still….” 

He bends down from his great height to get closer to her. Something invisible gently but firmly pulls one of Remilia’s arms up that that large vampire may kiss her hand lightly with those cruel-looking but sensual lips of his.

“You have great power and that is worth respecting. You are worth respecting. You should feel most honored.” 

The sudden force had caught her off-guard. She didn’t expect her arm to be suddenly yanked from her side. Luckily there was nothing for her to worry about this time as it was all part of his attempt to flatter her, but something to keep in mind.

“You acknowledge my power and that I’m worthy of respect. Yet you still feel like you must be the superior. I would settle for equals if anything.” If there was one thing her pride will never allow her to do. It would be to admit inferiority. Especially to man she knew nothing about asides from his claims of being a vampire.
