#they can both be scary but in different ways. i find written word is nearly entirely at the mercy of the reader #if you read a book too fast or too slow it doesnt hit the same #and if you struggle with imagination then it can be rough trying to visualise scary creatures and stuff #but god. books do existential dread SO much better. since you have more time to think and analyse the book in your own way #so the fear really sets in however you want it too #a book can be lacking description but if it leads you in the right direction your own mind can make the fear perfectly tailored to you #and then it can stick with you forever #like the hunger games wasnt a particularly scary book but when i was 12 it hit hard #because my mind populated it with theories and what-ifs and related it back to my own life. it was such a personal experience #and it was fucking scary to me. i loved it #because movies are more self-contained theyre really good at maintaining a tense well constructed environment #thats why they do jumpscares so well #and if it hits right it can stick with you beyond the movie as well #its scary in the way it can surprise you and implant things into your mind that youre not expecting #and that can be so scary #scary movies can do existential dread as well. but it only works if youre the kind of person to dwell on a film #which i am #thats my overall opinion #both are scary but it such different ways its hard to compare #reblog

meet rhubarb!! he's a lion clown based on circus animal cookies (mostly in base colors + the rainbow sprinkles). i wound up making a new (dyed) skin for him and i'm very happy with how he came out, especially his outfit + paint! i was also inspired by @aesthetspaghet's animal cracker custom, tho i have had the idea to make a circus animal cookie themed furby for awhile 🫡 i have a few other customs that have been finished/are close to being finished that i'll post about soon too, including a few that i'm going to sell! :-)
