Lol I’m on an event planning committee at work and they just made a huge deal about making sure that there would be “vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, and halal” options. When I reminded them we should have kosher options too, they said that was too hard to arrange because we’d have to find a specifically kosher restaurant. WE ARE IN NYC.

You expect to believe that there was no color, no bead work, no embroidery? Just the most blah and bland item ever.

We have the clothing for Kohanim and Kohan Gadol described in the Torah and it is so beautiful.

Sure regular people aren't going to dressed like that, but seriously I'm expected to buy that no didn't interesting patterns with their weaving.

That no dyed their yarn? That everyone worn shades of brown and tan and white and the occasional light blue.

I know us. I know we enjoy beauty too. I know that it would a way to express ourselves and the areas of the land we live in.

We expect to buy that not single one of use didn't have pomegranate something going on in their clothes or any of the 7 species.

That we didn't go all out for Shabbat wear.

A goyish friend of mine (who is not bigoted, just ignorant and watches too many youtube videos) was asking me about if the Rothschilds had anything to do with the founding of the State of Israel, but he had no idea who Theodore Hertzl was.

I then spent the next hour explaining to him why when you hear people go on about the Rothschilds it's a nazi dogwhistle and you should not take anything they have to say seriously.

Throwing firebombs at Jews gathering to raise awareness for the suffering of other Jews isn't antisemitism. Calling AIPAC "dark money" when it discloses its donors and saying it "turns us against each other" isn't antisemitic. Chanting "khaybar khaybar ya yahood" isn't antisemitic. Yelling "fucking Jew pricks" at random pedestrians isn't antisemitic. Shooting up a Chanukah party isn't antisemitic. Deliberately drawing on tropes about Jews and money and political influence for votes isn't antisemitic. Telling a Jewish American politician he serves "Israeli masters" isn't antisemitic. The only two antisemitic things that have happened in the last eighty years are Elon Musk's Nazi salute and Harry Potter Goblin. Wow! Incredible!

I honestly think we are the point were if the vast majority of USA Jews haven't already seriously considered leaving the USA/making plans to leave that it is time to being doing so.

It is not because I think that there will a Holocaust 2.0, but USA version.

I don't think we will see something like Holocaust in that kind of way in happening for a long time. Not in the "western" countries at least.

Rather I think we will see a mix of something we have seen before and something new.

Right now on the left we have had a lot of politicians win who are deeply antisemitic and who will institute policies that will make life for us harder and more dangerous one way or another.

The right has been pretty engrossed in the antisemitism for quite some time and the left is heavily embracing the way the right has. Both sides have gone from openly flirting to full on enmeshment with antisemites, antisemitic conspiracies, antisemitic talking points, and antisemitic language.

When everything isn't feeling like 1930's Germany it feels like 1890's France.

Friendly reminder that Antisemitism is a term coined SPECIFICALLY to mean Jew hatred. Every Arab and Middle Eastern person calling themselves a semite as a deflection when someone calls them Antisemitic has a fundamental misunderstanding of the term, and a deeply rooted hatred of Jews that they won't care if they're wrong, only that they hurt Jews in the process. Semitic is used to refer to a group of languages. A semite is someone who belongs to those who speak said languages, Antisemitism, AGAIN, IS SPECIFICALLY TO MEAN JEW HATRED! THAT IS ALL IT IS! Stop trying to take away our ability to identify hatred and then attempting to turn it back on us saying that WE'RE Antisemitic bc you're "semitic"
