Hang on bro, I’m thinking about the way Stoick and Hiccup’s relationship changes and grows over the course of two TV series’ and how in RoB Hiccup is still making self deprecating jokes about his dad hating him and he’s sneaking around all the time but by the time he’s 19 and RttE rolls around all of that is gone because his dad has shown him time and time again that his love is not conditional and won’t be getting revoked, and perhaps even more importantly, that he trusts Hiccup to make good choices. So in RttE we get moments where Hiccup clearly takes after his father and is not ashamed of it because he knows he’s a great leader and understands why the people of Berk all respect him, not fear, respect. And Stoick is proud and peaceful because he knows he has nothing to worry about, when he’s gone his son will do just fine taking care of himself and his people.

okay so i just finished book 11 of httyd and christ i was not ready to become so emotionally invested i feel like i’m actually going to cry when i finish this series

I relate- like I still am not past book 12 cuz I am trying to save myself. So far, it’s not working
