OH MY GOD YOU GUYS I GET TO SEE MY BEST FRIEND FOR 12 YEARS TONIGHT ON THE FLOOR OF A SOLD OUT SHOW I’M SO BLESSED @taylorswift
The invisible life of a Swiftie
I’m just coming to the realization that after 12 years of fangirling and obsessing and memorizing 6 amazing (yet completely different) albums cover to cover by the oh so talented Taylor Swift that I may never get to meet her. I can’t say it was from a lack of trying. In an attempt to get noticed, I’ve dressed (and covered myself in a ridiculous amount of glitter) as a Junior Jewel, a school girl, a cookie and a treadmill. All in the hopes of getting an invite to a T Party, a pass to Club Red, or an admission to Loft 89. I’ve driven 14 hours to a state I’ve never been just to see her one and only performance of the year. I’ve stayed up countless nights, when I should have been studying, just scouring social media, trying to figure out why I wasn’t one of the ones Taylor chose to stalk and invite to the Secret Sessions and comparing myself to the “lucky ones.” I’ve done all of this (and more than I’d care to admit) just to get a chance to say “Thank you” for getting me through my high school, college and now early adulthood years. I didn’t want to admit it, because deep down I have had (and will always have) this unexplainable hope that it could happen for me. I’ve come so close so many times. And, not to take anything away from the fans that have met her– I’m sososo happy for them, but, I’m going to turn 25 in a few days, so I’ve got to let go of some of my dreams. I’m done thinking I’m not good enough. Or enthusiastic enough. Or clever enough. Or outgoing enough. Or not on Twitter/Tumblr/TSL enough to meet Taylor Swift. Even though I will NEVER (like ever ever ever) stop loving and admiring and respecting Taylor Swift, there comes a point when you have to step aside and usher in a new chapter in life. One that focuses on being happy with who you are and living in the moment, rather than constantly thinking and wondering and worrying about something that *MIGHT* happen. It’s not doing myself or those around me any good. You’ve taught me so much, Tay, and for that, I’ll be forever grateful.
So, because I will never (unless fate magically steps in somewhere down the road) get to see your smile light up a room, give you a hug and tell you in person, thank you for 12 amazing and unforgettable years. For the memories, the friendships, the laughter, the tears. For teaching me to be fearless and to speak now. For helping me to feel comfortable in my own skin (with red lip stick, of course). For helping me to finally feel clean. For helping me find myself. For letting me shake it off when I need to. For showing me it’s okay to dance in the rain like no ones watching. That my reputation doesn’t have to define my happiness.
Love you Tay,
Forever and Always

P.S. I’ll see you, (but you probably won’t see me) at the Reputation Tour in Chicago! 🎉🎉🙌🏻😘😘
